Yes, I may be okay with a move back but 14 is further than comfortable for me

I do think McCoy is an excellent prospect. If WR is the focus, I wonder how much of a separation there is between Tate and Lemon from a grading standpoint.

#14 is basically at the outer edge of the range I am comfortable with. I thought about a trade back to the Vikings at #17 but the truth is there is a clear dropoff by the time that pick comes around

Lemon was gone in that scenario.
 
I know that fans want to win now and the team wants to contend before JD's next contract, but a trade down netting a other 1st next year would be tempting

I get what you are saying. I don't however see Peters and DQ both surviving that move. It is more than the fans that will need to see this team make real strides
 
I seriously doubt a team will offer their first for 2027, supposedly a historically good draft, to move up in a relatively weak draft.

So many are saying asking around don't expect many teams looking to trade up and if they do it won't be for a big haul.

You are probably right, but for once, I'd like to be the team they are talking about when they say, "how in the world did they pull that off?"

Got it. I’m taking McCoy then

I think the disappointment with the pick would be all the draft capital we’ve burned at CB since 2023. McCoy feels like a very solid bet to be a CB1 in this league.

I get Daronte’s scheme doesn’t emphasize corners but I’m not sure how much I care given he may not be here beyond 2026

And I say that as someone who, if Lemon isn’t a total weirdo, thinks he may be the best 2026 WR prospect in a vacuum.

This is a really good point.

I think Quinn said McCaffery could play outside, and they were trying him at all 3 spots.

I made the point last year they just needed to pick a spot for him and let him work in one place.

Maybe if they draft Lemon, that’s what they do.

Lane is not an outside guy, but with his speed, you can find ways to get him snaps in creative ways.

Lemon would be way down my list of prospects, however.

But if he’s the best offensive skill position player then you say screw it and pick him.
 
It would propbably take a team in the latter half trading up for Love or a pass rusher if they fell. Maybe MIN or LAR?

It would be nice, but supposedly this is an unlikely year to trade down and receive future draft capital.

Could be that. Also just from thinking about all the past drafts, the last two weeks or so there are usually some shifts. I can see Styles going top 5.

Tate is harder unless its the Giants. The Cards don't need a WR, arguably the Titans are OK at WR. Going #2 seems a bit crazy to me.
 
I wonder if they don't get Love, will they draft another RB on day 2, wait til day 3 or watch for cuts after the draft.

I know, there is no player that matches Love by a long shot, but I do like Coleman but he surely won't reach 71

I hope not. Our running back situation is pretty good. Unless it's a clear and significant upgrade there are other areas that need help more.
