The Starter
I’m worried that in some order it’s going to go Mendoza, Love, Tate, Reese, Bailey, Styles. The latter 5 are my top tier. I’d hate to wind up with someone outside that group at 7.
I completely agree - I want them to give Daniels a guy that wins quickly on intermediate routes. An easy button if you will. Perhaps Okonkwo fills that role.I do think you need a speed receiver. You need someone that scares the defense a little bit. That said, not everyone needs to be a burner. Ricky Sanders was our fastest receiver. Art Monk was the Hall of Famer, but Art and Gary both benefitted from the deep attention Ricky garnered because defenses knew that if they let their guard down Ryp or Doug would kill 'em with bombs.
I think we already have speed at receiver. Terry is fast or fastish. Lane is definitely fast. So, we do have someone to keep the deep safety honest. I think we need more receivers who excel in that middle range, the ten to twenty yard throws. Heck, we also could use a pure possession receiver who's a chain mover.
Yeah, that’d be a bummer. Downs seems like a nice consolation prize though. Maybe a trade back, a corner, or even the top guard (I’m guessing this would be an unpopular choice).I’m worried that in some order it’s going to go Mendoza, Love, Tate, Reese, Bailey, Styles. I would go Tate because of positional value and need. It is a hell of lot harder to find a star WR than a good off ball LB. And they are a hell of lot more expensive. Now if you consider Reese strictly as an Edge (I dont) then maybe you go with him.If Love is gone and Tate and Reese are there who do we take? Chaisson was just a one year signing so Reese would be very tempting
I may be mistaken but I don't see Washington taking a linebacker at #7 overall.
Given how the free agency board has fallen it appears we are making most of our adds on defense with younger vets and will be looking to those picks at #7 and #71 to add offensive skill players.
My favortie trade down WR but I want to see him run first.
I still think Washington adds to the linebacker room, I just doubt it's going to be to the tune of the #7 overall pick.I don’t know. Chenal is here for a bit and solid. Magee is still an unknown. Wagner is probably gone. Luvu has one more year. I think the LB squad looks good this year, but it’s like WR. We are going to be needing new troops soon.
I don’t know how I feel about Tate compared to Reese and Styles. I do know I prefer Love. I do t think we have so much talent anywhere other than OT and QB, that we couldn’t benefit from adding a top guy.
5'11 though. A bit small for the prototypical NFL receiver.
We drafted 'slot' receivers in McCaffrey in 2024 and Lane in 2025.He's a slot.
He's a slot.
