I doubt you watched the Giants much, that dude is a monster. Payne is far from it. There is a reason why executives ranked him as the best DT in the league. There is a reason why his peers ranked him as the 17th best player in the NFL. There is a reason why he has been All Pro. And there is a reason why Cincy traded a top 10 pick for him.

I watched them plenty along with all the other NFC east teams as i live in Virginia..dexter has a way better supporting cast of DL and still can't match Payne's production in physical stats and not some imaginary stat like pressures.

I’m sorry and mean no offense, but that means you really just don’t know what you’re watching when you’re observing him play. He is worth orders of magnitude more than Payne. Even if you think the Bengals overpaid whenever the final trade tally comes out, we’d be lucky to get a 4th round pick for Payne in trade, and demanding a much smaller extension.

This is not even a conversation worth having, truly. They are not close and nearly ALL observers would agree.

I mean, that's a take... you may not like the pressures stat, but even if it's weirdly wrong in his favor, he's would still be well ahead of Payne.

If Payne wants to prove you right this season, I'm thrilled, but I think your a massive outlier on this topic.

Did you watch any games last year? How many drives did Payne stop with batted balls ,safety's or tackles for loss? He can't cover up all the other terrible players that played on defense. yet he still beat Dexter in every stat besides some imaginary pressure buy some outlet.you guys are pinning the whole defensive failures on him due to how much money he makes..

I haven’t said anything about Payne here except that he’s far inferior to Lawrence and nobody in the NFL would value him similarly. The idea that pressure on the QB doesn’t matter is fascinating, but this conversation is off topic and frustrating, so I’ll leave it at that.
 
Back on topic, I think if that trade tells us anything it’s actually that the perception of this draft once the blue chips are gone is as poor as we’ve assumed. Bengals decided an elite 28-year old DT on a massive contract is worth more to them than whoever they could get on a cost-controlled rookie contract at 10. They’re in a win-now window for sure but I still think it says that they expect all of the immediate-impact studs to be gone by then.

Crazy to give up a top 10 pick for a player that has such minimal impact.
 
That was a brilliant trade from Schoen and takes him off the hot seat. Now him and Harbaugh have to capitalize. We really need to hit this pick out of the park with NY having 2 top 10 picks and Dallas having 2 top 20 picks
 
That trade should end all discussions of trading back for 2027 draft picks, and any debate that 2026 blue chips don't fall off fast.

This draft is odd to say the least.
 
From being on here since the beginning of the off-season until now, I feel like the consensus worst case scenario on this site, give or take is:

1- Mendoza
2- Bailey
3- Reese
4- Love
5- Styles
6- Tate

That could legitimately happen. If it does then what do all of you want to do at 7
 
Giants should trade up from #10 now and pick twice in the top 5 or 6.

I think the consensus is Delane in that scenario.

The Giants will be a team to be reckoned with because they now have a very, very good head coach.
