Part of the whole ES acquisition thing was this 'Redskins Unfiltered' concept where Snyder was trying to create his own media empire to shape the message and coverage because, God knows, he was getting gutted constantly by the traditional media outlets. For the most part, we were almost completely ignored, given the cold shoulder. There were 1 or 2 beat guys who were absolute pricks. A couple of them, Bram Weinstein and Rich Tandler, were gracious and helpful and friendly because that's just who those guys are (or were RIP Rich). Most of the coverage folks just ignored us.

Anyway, back to our thread topic :)

Man, opposite of my experience.

Tandler was always great. Bram was great. Cooley was fantastic (I had worked his camp and got coach of the camp in 2012, he recognized me in the press box, didn’t remember my name though) and Chris Russell actually bought my dinner at a Thai restaurant.

I was a bit after the first surge, though, so maybe they got their frustrations out on you guys.

PS: if it makes you feel better Joe Theismann sprayed hairspray in my eye in the bathroom and told me to get out of the way.
 
Yeah - it was a different world when we started. We were seen as invading their turf. It was downright hostile with a few exceptions those first couple of seasons. KDawg, Bram was great from the get go - and he was one of the few who you could engage in conversation with - I have spoken to him a number of times since then. Rich Tandler was closer to 'us' than a true journalist (at least at that point in his career). I think he felt we were encroaching on his 'thing' a little but he was always civil and helpful.

Anyway - it was an interesting experience, I'm sure you felt that way too.

On the actual team front count me on the “not worried about Terry” crew. We’re going to get him signed, he’ll be around and everything will be good.

Internet seems to be in a fervor that Deebo is not in the best of football shape right now. I know we recently hired (2 months ago) Wes Welker who helped Deebo stay in shape with the 49ers, I wonder if the team is getting a little alarmed. Hopefully this is all just nothing.
 
On seeing the OTA images, Deebo definitely looks like he has a little extra weight around his belly and backside, but I was looking through old highlights, and I think he’s always been on the thicker side. Hopefully he is in shape, because he could really add a dimension to our offense.
