I think it's going to be hard to sign Bourne and he'll use Washington as a pawn so to speak to sign with SF. Just a guess.

SF been more of a winner over the years than we have. We just started as we know last year. We shall see.

He doesn't move the needle, but he is a guy who can contribute when everybody is healthy and would be serviceable if forced into a starting role. He has 7 straight seasons of 300+ yards . He has 3714 career receiving yards. Unlike most of the receivers who got cut, his was more controversial as he asked to be released. They initially refused to release him and put him on their initial 53 but the next day did decide to grant him his release.
Yeah Dyami who played some Z last year wasn't of course some killer WR, but was solid as a backup and did OK enough when he had to start.
Bourne, is a more consistent, less explosive version of Dyami. Also known for making some clutch catches.

Luke and Jaylin are already playing special teams. i'm fine with Bourne. just wanted someone younger, but solid depth is more important right now. AP knows him, so I'm assuming there is a reason why he wants to sign him.
I agree, SF is home for Bourne so I’m not sure he’ll leave once he’s visiting them, and I assume the offers will be comparable. The visit he has lined up with us will probably just act as a reason for SF to sign him before week 1 (whereas with no competition, they could wait until after week 1 and his salary would not be guaranteed)
Edit: want to add, it may depend on how much he likes AP vs Lynch/Shanny and how tight he was with Deebo, if the money is similar

Bourne has a certain Identity, he will give SF an Ultimatum before signing with Washington due to NFC East Supremacy and thus cement his Legacy.

Good point with "add ins", Conn but Deebo and AP would really have to sell this team to him. In the end, he'll sign with SF.

With 3 posts. Because everyone is on this side of the forum. Not said in an attacking way.
Even just the money is interesting. Almost 50 million a year, AND 2 1st round picks? That might be a trade that is bad for both teams
Anyway, Not sure about Bourne in FA, but I don’t think it moves the needle either way.

he'll get a better opportunity to get meaningful playing time there, but we have Jayden. hopefully, that's enough. I'd feel better with another option if/when Noah goes down.

he didn't move the needle for me either but, after taking a closer look at him, i am warming up to him. I am high on Jakobi Meyers and he reminds me of him with a bit more wiggle and speed - albeit, less production.

I mean it's team building strategies. They have kind of flopped on a lot of their 1st rounders (but hit on enough others to still have young talent), so those are 5th year options they won't be needing to pick up or worry about extending.
$47M is A LOT, but I think they believe they have a 2-3 year window to contend before they need to make a decision on Jordan Love. He's been both great and awful in the playoffs, so that part is still a questionmark. Which isn't a bad place to be in for a franchise. He still could be a QB that can rise up in big moments.
But if he is, then Parsons maximizes that 2-3 year window. If he isn't, then they cut Love in 2028.
Normally only 5 receivers are on the active roster for game days. Your 5th receiver who dresses needs to be a contributor on teams in some way. If you have 6 receivers on your roster the 6th guy does not need to be a core teams guy, but if he plans to get any game time it would be wise to become one!

I'm desperately praying that Jerry uses that extra cap space to pay Dak even more $$$
I agree might be a long shot for him to sign here. Better opportunity for playing time in SF and he can hit the ground running because he knows the system.
Right now I think our two main weaknesses left.
A. Outside receiver who can step in if needed -- and its likely needed considering Noah's injury history
B. An edge setting DE. With all the talk of stopping the run this off season I suspect they failed to address it. Kinlaw and J. Newton are arguably below average run stoppers. Payne is just OK at it. Wise in his career has been OK to below average judging by PFF scores. Armstrong is bad at it, judging by PFF scores. Goldman later in his career has been bad at it judging by PFF scores and the preseason. And i don't get the vibe that Whitt is good at scheming it up. So I don't see how the problem is resolved but hopefully am wrong.
