I don't think it's negativity as much as it is fear that we'll end up with the next Alex Smith or Albert haynesworth or deshaun Watson situation which is to say a huge contract for a player who's no longer contributing.I get the concerns about his age and cost, and I tend to think holding out like this is a red flag, but I’m still surprised to see so much negativity around Hendrickson. Have you watched him play? He is consistently an impact player, and has been for years.
Acquiring players through free agency and trades is always a gamble, sometimes you get trent williams and make out like a bandit other times you get deshaun Watson and it's the worst trade ever.
The best gm's are really good at balancing risk reward when assessing the trade and a lot of us are thinking the risk likely outweighs the reward.
But I don't think there's a single person who wouldn't be ecstatic to see him on our roster next year.
