I agree that we should be using FA. We're signing cast offs to one year deals, not over paying studs while we have the cash.
Next year we'll be signing 20 cast offs to one year deals, because we drafted less guys. We're kicking the talent window down the road.
We'll continue having a high turn over roster when we need to pay Daniels if we continue to trade away picks.
The Eagles were able to trade away talent they drafted and load up on picks, which they then used to get more talent.
The
Philadelphia Eagles currently have 20 draft picks over the next two NFL Drafts:
2025:
1st (Own)
2nd (Own)
3rd (Own)
4th (Own)
5th (via Detroit)
5th (via Houston)
5th (via Cleveland via Detroit)
5th (via Washington)
2026:
1st (Own)
2nd (Own)
3rd (Own)
3rd (via New York Jets)
3rd (project comp pick)
4th (Own)
4th (projected comp pick)
4th (projected comp pick)
5th (own)
6th (projected comp pick)
6th (Own)
7th (Own)
This is while having 6 of 11 offensive starters signed until at least 2029.
We have
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 3 (from PHI)
- Round 5 (from NO)
- Round 7
- Round 7 (from PHI)
- Round 7 (from PHI)
and no 2nd or 4rth in 2026.
You really can't compare us and the Eagles.
