The 2025 Free Agency Thread

Totally agree on every part, my comparison of Rodriguez and McNichols to BRob wasn’t they were the over all better back but that they provided what BRob didn’t in much less playing time… to be honest I’m on record as saying if Chris Rodriguez played as much and had the same amount of carries of Robinson he would have had a statistically better season… BRob is best use as a #2 behind a quality RB imho… unfortunately he’s our #1 as of now…
We could save $3 mill if we cut BRob and I wouldn't be sad. Just saying and I'd think CRob would perform better. AP is the GM and will make it right, though.

I agree we could save the money, but Rodriguez isn't a full-time NFL running back.

The 2025 starter IMO is coming out of the draft.

BRob is a good story and easy to root for, but at best he’s a singles hitter and a three yards and a pile of dust running back. An Eddie George who wears down and can’t make it through a season.

Rodriquez was an exclusive rights free agent. He was tendered by the team so cheap and can compete for a roster spot

I think what AP and KK wants is a more balanced O. Our Oline is not built for power rushing but if they move Coleman to LG it may open up things.
We have a top 5 QB, we traded for a legit weapon at WR opposite Terry and we traded for a LT who is much better pass protecting than run blocking. I don'y know what they will do - but I would weight more towards the offense running through the QB than the running backs. Not saying the running game would not still be important - need to be able to pick up 3rd and shorts, be effective around the goal line and be able to cope with cold weather late season and playoff games. But I would run this through JD.

I think they move Coleman to RT. But we will see.

Damn. Thought Floyd would be a nice Fowler replacement (I’d still take Fowler back on a light contract, but hope for a better rotational piece first)

All of these Edges getting big contracts. Has Fowler been mentioned yet in any contract conversations?

Wonder if he really shot itself in the foot yesterday

Respectfully, I believe CRod is a full time back. I think you want a change of pace true half back on 3rd downs but I think CRod can hang but he hasn't been given the chance with BRob here. We definitely can do much better at RB and hopefully AP upgrades and this draft definitely has some good ones. It's loaded.

I'd really like to see Leonard, released from SF signed to a 1 year deal. We still need to go early for a DE/EDGE though, I think.

They could, MC. Keim even mentioned Coleman possibly being moved to RT. He only played it a bit in CFB but if AP, DQ and Co. think he can they'll do it.

Fowler may have whined himself off the team. I don't know. We shall see. Others have mentioned Smith from Detroit. We'll see.

I don’t know - hard sell for me

Yeah. Right now the biggest roster hole is Edge for sure. Is Hendrickson still in the mix? Feels like it.

Regardless of him, the DL still needs more help including a run stuffing DT.

The next top needs are CB then I'd like to see a RT/OG or OG/C then lesser RB, WR2/3,

I think we see a RB sooner than later in the draft.

But I'm w RWJ, I'd like to see what C-Rod can bring in a lead RB role.
