The 2025 Free Agency Thread

Fields will get the starting gig on the Jets. Interesting. Glad to see him get a chance. Dude is fun to watch.

It tells me they wanted a more stout guy than Newton. Pure speculation of course but who can say no for sure. And no one thinks DL should could or would ever take 90% of the snaps in the modern game.
I’d argue it’s more likely they wanted a more stout guy next to Newton. Though this could definitely be (also/instead?) about subbing w/ Newton situationally…

Most teams don't leave their DTs in the game as much as we did under Ron. Good rotation is important. It's why we run a hurry up offense.

Lawrence signing would really make me feel better about stopping the run.

If the FO believes Kinlaw is on the upswing and entering his prime, then I'm all for it.

It's a moderately risky move because you are somewhat gambling on getting the most out of the guy vs paying based on past performance, and you gotta hope you're right when you do that.

He's definitely got the right measurables. Hopefully just took a couple years to put it all together and he's a beast now.

Had a knee injury in back to back seasons. The second time it took a bit longer to heal.

I don't have an issue with them thinking KInlaw as a player may be growing into his elite measurables. I still just feel like 3 years and $45 million is an awful big bet.

It's more like a 2 year, the third year nonguarantees.

I don't know how this pan out. Outside the box signing Ron style where it goes against the grain. Difference is these guys killed it in FA last year so I'll ride it. 5 sacks for a part time 3 technique isn't bad. Looks like his pressure rate was high, too. But definitely not a sexy signing.

Bears aren't messing around. However, we've seen teams do this here many times...

If you want to go older vets I would like Lawrence and Keenan Allen. Sucks we only have 6 draft picks.
