The 2025 Free Agency Thread

No, it’s not. He’s a 30 year old role player who can’t defend the run, who got most of his sacks off of clean-up duty due to scheme. I’d take him back but he not anything close to 100% correct about his dumbass comments. He’s a rotational player who thinks his sack numbers cracking double digits are all that matter in regards to getting paid good money. You haven’t had enough of those egos with mediocre talent at EDGE?
Yep. His attitude and lack of professionalism just tells us that the front office made the right decision in deciding to move on from him. DQ been going to bat for him for years, but this is the thanks he gets? I seriously doubt we’re gonna see double digits sacks again once he gets paid anyway.

Agreed but he’s better than Josh Sweat who had Studs all around him as to where Fowler didn’t and managed to get 2.5 more sacks … my entire point wasn’t to say Fowler is a stud or should be resigned, it was simply to agree w/him as to ppl thinking Josh Sweat is the premier PR on the FA market ….when he’s not… sweat has only managed to get double digits sacks 1 time in his career…

Sweat will be overpaid (hopefully not by us) but he is a superior player to Fowler in a vacuum, with room to grow due to age. They don’t play the same role

Mine is “Legal Tampering Period” is the dumbest name to ever exist.
+1 letting the inmates run the prison by naming the days before free agency, after what they did all those decades. Snyder inking Haynesworth at midnight the moment he could, showed clear tampering. Probably got fined or just further irked Mara.

Probably everyone just deleting their tweets or accounts overloading their servers

I get the same impression, especially for Chinn. If Chinn thinks he is in the 8-9 mil per year range, AP may be pivoting to Moehrig. Moehrig is better at coverage than Chinn but also is good in run support, so might be worth spending a little extra and getting a better overall player.

Why would somebody delete their account on free agency day?

Just followed anyone I can think of on Bluesky--unfortunately Keim nor Schefter are on there.

If he is pivoting to someone else, as much as I like Moehrig, my guess is it would be Hufanga. He is a playmaker in a way that no one else in the secondary currently is

Rough for most of the media who, like us, get the majority of their material from X. I have The Athletics free agency tracker open and crickets.

That's my gut as well unless they figuring they can get him for less due to injury. I grade Moehrig as the best of the three and Hufanga probably 3rd.

Yep I like Moehrig the most due to coverage ability despite Hufanga’s All Pro bonafides.
