A. Definitely interested in Hendrickson. He's heard all sorts of things about trade compensation, seemed to suggest a 2nd or 3rd and change but was guessing.
B. He had a Cincy beat guy on the show. Said Hendrickson is a workaholic on steroids. Great example for the locker room and the younger players. Good dude but big time trash talker on the field. On an aside was listening to Craig Hoffman talk about Hendrickson. I generally like and agree with Hoffman but IMO wow is he off on Hendrickson, talking about he'd do it if its for a 2026 4th round pick and that he's just slightly better than the FA DEs, and should command low 20s -- and he's out if its the high 20s. Well, Craig if that's the bar, and they make this deal, he's going to hate it. it's going to cost more than a 2026 4th and for sure he should get in the high 20s at least.
C. Keim said whomever he talked to with the team called Hendrickson a perfect fit.
D. Keim talked about them adding O line, CB, younger WR, run stuffing DT. No names mentioned aside from Slayton.
I watched a highlight video of Hendrickson. Forgot that he beat Lucas and Allegretti on a double team for a sack against us. Stylstically he reminds me some of Crosby.

You're the one who called him classless after one breakdown after a frustrating season. Does this sound classless? Guy too a pay cut to stay on our team and tried to take another to stay on this team.

I can see them going harder at Hendrickson than Stanley. He really does feel like a Commander/DQ guy, perfect fit. Compared to Stanley who feels a little more like, he is the best guy available in a meh field.
Still high on Slayton but I hate the way his name is being mentioned by lots of teams now.
Sure. didn't suggest either player were bad dudes because from my observation they don't like talking to fans or signing anything in camp. I know Allen in particular has given over 3 million to charities and is active when they do the practice in front of veterans, etc, and engages on that front.
From my observation, engaging with kids in camp isn't their gig. I've not seen either even one nod to a kid or talk to them or sign a single autograph. It's notable to me because I've been many times to camp. I'll give that maybe it happened once in a while when I wasn't there. But so many of the other players were great on that front including dudes that some of us don't care for.
Josh Norman, Kerrigan, Chase Young, Terry, in particular would go sometimes for an hour let alone just giving a few minutes. Sweat, Haskins (RIP), Guice, ditto. Kirk at times. Peterson. Landon Collins. Heck even the coaches, especially Jay. Most of them. I didn't go to camp last year but heard Jayden was incredible on that front.
Allen and Payne from what I would see would just stare ahead, not make eye contact, or say a word, or sign a single autograph.
Doesn't make them bad guys. But lol, it was very noticeable considering almost all their teammates engaged with the fans.

I have always been a fan of Allen. He and Terry were great leaders for the franchise and the fans when they had little else with Danny and Ronny and company shitting on us in so many ways.
Same. I am good with the 2nd but keep the first.

haskins was drafted cause he was a friend of snyder,s kid. i,m glad we have adults drafting players now.i,m glad mr me allen is gone.
Usually around this time of year in the buying season it's common to hear rumblings of ridiculous deals being thrown around. I think a few MG posts involved multiple years and multiple firsts, so when I hear that an absolute stud like Hendrickson may involve a sole second, my ears perk up. I could see a scenario where we ship our #1 in exchange for Hendrickson ans 2-3 picks in return. We add a stud and also pick up more draft ammo.
Great point, there are so many packaged selection possibilities. That is the only way I see AP giving up 29 though

Either team could clear a bunch of cap space by doing restructuring. Also they can structure a deal
So it only takes a small amount of cap room in 2025.
I’m not saying it’s likely, but both could. They’re both going to do something to sign players, it’s just a matter of how much and who.

Washington has a great thing going. We have a new owner, coach, franchise QB, were a game away from the Super Bowl. We have a ton of cap room. We should all be excited and collegial here.
I don’t think there is a need to be here calling people toddlers and 1st graders and being super negative about the past. We aren’t all going to agree all the time. But, we shouldn’t make it personal.
Digesting rumors about Hendrickson a bit more. My takeaway is Bears might be the main competiton for him. Cost would likely be a 2nd day pick and maybe change or maybe no change. Getting paid about 35 million or so. So feels like the hit would be more of a cap hit.

I think the NFL has undervalued the Deebo Samuel trade.
While praised for getting a value acquisition (#5 pick in return), most NFL reporters and commentators seem to give Christian Kirk and the possible landing spot for Taylor Lockette as much ink.
I think that will end up being a mistake. If healthy Samuel is worth a lot more to Daniels and to the Commanders than any of these other players that have been in the news on that side of the ball catching passes.
Hendrickson to me has two strikes against him. One he is 31 years old. I would like us to spend high picks and mega dollars on a younger player to become part of the core here with Daniels over the next 4-5 years. By that time, Hendrickson will be in a wheelchair watching NFL games at home.
Two, while a very productive pass rusher, the one knock on him is he is not rated highly as a two way player against the run.
And the most glaring deficiency on defense last year when all is said and done was the ability to get running backs and scrambling passers on the ground. It was embarrassing to watch runners truck this team last year.
At 269 Hendrickson is another guy like Armstrong and Fowler who has 'specialist' skills.
I want a guy at DE that does everything well if we are going to play him $30M.

Good post Bulldog. I do think Handrickson isn't as bad as the others against the run but correct, no great. The cost may be out of control. They will stay in the battle for him as I am certain DQ and Whitt love him. However, I could see them turn to Landry
I just looked to see what Chicago has left after spending on Thuney and Jackson, sadly it is still a ton of space
