The 2025 Free Agency Thread

A true bargain at OT will be Jaylon Moore from the 49ers. I got a gut feeling that AP signs him in free agency not because he's an inexpensive signing but because he fits what we do and replaces Lucas.
Great find- I bet you are right-https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/jaylon-moore-is-the-49ers-highest-graded-pending-free-agent-per-pff-01jj4rr6vj30

I think S Hufanga, CB Ward and OG Banks are better but he fits what we do on our Oline and I think he would be a good get along with Banks if they want to sign him too. Both wouldn't break the bank and we need an OG to fill in for Cosmi as he will be out for at least 1/2 if not more or the regular season. I'm not beating the bandwagon for 49er players because AP was part of the F.O. that help draft these players but rather we have a need and they fit.

Is this the wide out we want? The Washington Football Team, they obviously just miserable because the stadium is horrible, the city is not great at all," Adams said. "I'm probably going to get somebody at my front door after this, but that's just how I feel.

I would have preferred Adams without giving up draft capital over Deebo. But it is what it is.
The problem with Adams is he's still a major diva whose production doesn't match his drama.

It’s been whisper quiet on all our free agents…
I was thinking the same.
I thought by now we would have at least begun to hear of Washington signing or working on signing some of their many FA's

I don't really think Dyami will be back. He should get a nice chunk of change due to his sparked play at the end of the season

It'd be nice if we announced a few re-signings. Guys like Ertz and Wagner. I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't sign yet. I mean we and they all assume a relatively low number, but there's no reason for them to sign a cheap contract in advance of the actual opening of free agency. As for big contracts, we have none this year.

Whatever happens it’d be really idiotic not to bring Lucas back. The value he provides at $3M a year is absolutely immense. Look at what happens to the Giants O every year after they lose a tackle to a season ending injury.

I’d be fine with Moore as a low end starter with the idea of cutting Wylie after the draft if we don’t draft a first round starter at the other tackle position

They very well could bring back Lucas as a backup but I think a younger version of him in Moore as a starter makes a ton of sense on a 2 or 3 year deal.

Wylie can play RG until Cosmi is ready and be the primary backup at both G and OT.

They could easily do both.

I’m an unabashed Lucas fan. He’s like the perfect backup swing tackle. If bring him back in a heartbeat and that would have no effect on what else you do in FA or the draft. You just set the floor of backup swing tackle to “professional.”

I think people are going to lose their minds when Wylie lines up as the starting right tackle.

I think that’s the most likely scenario, which nobody is going to like.

I won't lose my mind but I'd be disappointed and somewhat surprised if AP doesn't make a change at RT. Wylie at RG I can understand and think it could work. There are better options but Wylie at RG makes sense.

I actually agree that’s the most likely outcome. But it’s not the outcome we should be planning for.

He actually didn’t play badly last year overall to be fair.

He played well enough that finding a replacement level player for his salary is going to be tough, and finding a FA definite upgrade is going to be tougher.

Which is why I think they’re going to draft the best OL the can at different spots and then figure out what to do from there.

Maybe they can find a starting RT like they did Coleman. I doubt they will find a starting LT who is immediately better than Coleman to flip him to the right side.

And the tackle FA market is … underwhelming except for a few.

Ronnie Stanley is interesting but 31 and has an injury history and is going to get a large contract.

Cam Robinson from the Jags is … ok? They franchised him twice but is he really that good?

Dan Moore (as discussed above) has been described as a “serviceable LT.” We have one of those. Could he be a younger Lucas replacement? Maybe. Could he be a Wylie replacement? Maybe, but I think they’re might be really kidof the same level.

Moses? He’s 34 now.

There might be a few others. The options are just so limited.

Yeah I'm going to be pissed if Wylie is the starting RT again. Only way I might be okay with him there is if they brought it big upgrades at both G spots (or a LT and Coleman slides inside) and one of them will move to RT next year
