The 2025 Free Agency Thread

who would think he'd be the first? I hope to upgrade at that spot albiet he was good in the championship game.

Yeah, go figure. I could still see them looking early in FA for a PK, they appreciate having a good one

I have been expecting to hear the resigning of Mariota, Ertz, Chinn, Wagner, Lucas or one of the 2 Noahs as the first move.

Id like to add Tress to that list.

Me too. I think i would rather sign Sweat instead of trading for Garrett. Garrett is by far the better player. But i would prefer to keep our two first rounders.
I am not sure many will agree with you but I do. Sweat would be a great fit, and for me, I'd rather take Dayo than Sweat as he should come at a lesser contract and I think he is unrated. Sweat played with the better line, and his team was up early in a lot of games.

Chris Russell teased on air abouut Bosa but hasn't elaborated yet so can't tell yet if that's something he's heard or something he thinks they should do. So will see if its him just spitballing. It's been a long time when he had inside info. He had a good run years back with some gossip when Bruce was in charge but nothing much since those days. Only one I trust on that front is Keim.

Feels like Bosa is destined to join his brother in SF.

Sure wish they'd fix their Interior first by trading for Allen :)

We are going to end up not getting anything for him in a release

Better kickers out there are available. Interesting.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If someone better is there, they can come in and beat him out. He did a good job down the stretch, so he’s a safe choice until they find someone else. Or they can focus their efforts elsewhere.

If we are going to spend a lot of money on a S, are we better off signing Moehrig over Chinn?
He is quicker, more range which the knock on Chinn

Heh, just came to report this. Y'all are too fast for me :)

I could see the draw of playing with your brother obviously, but I'd also assume Joey Bosa would want to go to a contender if he can, and I think we're closer to it than SF. They just lost one of their top weapons, their defense is still good but isn't the force it used to be, and they're about to saddle themselves with an enormous contract for a good but not great (IMO) QB. We're on the way up, they're on the way down.

I think this makes him harder for the Browns to include in a package deal for Garrett?

Also, count me out on Bosa, etc. I think signed a lot of older vets last year to help set the culture for a team with a lot of turnover, a rookie QB, a big rookie class, and a new coaching staff.

I don’t think signing a bunch of 32 to 35 year olds is going to be our new norm. Jayden is young. We don’t need to sacrifice the future for this year.
