The 2025 Free Agency Thread

So after us signing so many of our own fa in the last 24 hours anyone know where are cap number is? Over that cap still days behind doesnt even show any resigning of free agents since monday.

It sounds like someone needs to start a current salary cap tracker thread and update it by the signing.

Any takers?

I think it’s a waste of energy because there’s no way of telling the details of these contracts and what the team is doing in the background to manipulate the cap. I would be very surprised if anyone could get close to an accurate projection without that info.

I am not the biggest Wylie fan,
This is kindof like saying the Sydney Sweeney is not unattractive.

I believe your statement is a little bit of an understatement…. :p

Better than 5 or so posts a day asking what the current cap allocation is sitting at in numerous other threads.

You’d have to ask Ken

Effective means after removing salaries from the draft cor

**Note, snip is from 2026.

The effective cap is considering 2 things:

1). The Seahawks have about 23mill difference between Cap and Effective. They also have only 25 players signed. The will need at least 28 bodies to complete a 53 man roster, so it's accounting with minimum salaries to get to that number.

2.) The Rule of 51 when looking at rosters over that level. In the offseason rosters expand to 90 players and the top 51 contracts are considered.

While here are estimates for draft picks cap hits, I'm not sure if that's accounted for here. I've never checked the math for that.

Doesn't effective include a set aside for rookie contracts too?

Ive never seen over the cap this far behind. Just seems odd
I posted the 2026 pic, all teams have over the 51 mark now, so it wasn't a good rep for the first comment I made. edit: (if that is what makes you say this....)

I’m kind of surprised that we haven’t extended Terry yet. That would give us significantly more wiggle room.

I agree, it would be smart to do so before Chase or Higgins (if he doesn’t play under the tag) does. The price is only going to rise. Perhaps Terry’s side prefers to be patient.

I mean, he’s not gonna get paid like Chase and I don’t think they will actually extend Higgins. He’s gonna play on the franchise tag, I bet.
