The 2025 Draft Thread

If we luck out and get a RB too in the 6th, this would be a turn of events I wasn't expecting -- O line strengthened, WR and RB in one fell swoop.

If I recall it was Hail Raiser talking about attacking one side of the ball, offense, hard this off season, and then take on the defense in a bigger way the following off season. You can't rebuild Ron's crap roster overnight. Looks like they are thinking like Hail Raiser.

If they have a new dyanmic WR, dyanmic RB and an o line that can rival any team after this draft -- its one heck of a draft especially considering only 5 picks. Granted all in theory but i love it.
Still need the RB. I kindof doubt they’re going to take one at this point. Seems like they’ve convinced themselves the problems in the running game were more OL related than ball carrier related. And they might even be right.

I’d still take a RB in this draft. But they might want to grab somebody else on defense and make do with whatever they have at RB.

Btw, my iPhone autocorrects RB to Arab. And if I’m not paying attention, my posts about running backs takes on a very different meaning. “I would still take a RB in this draft” turned to “I would still take an Arab in this draft.” Chuckle.

The Duffy tweets about Lane are pretty exciting

Brother, clean your glasses, they must be smudgy if you can’t see his suddenness and explosiveness in those highlights… if he tightens up his route running with those knee chops aka Scary Terry, he’s a nightmare. Plus he’s gadget monster too; gives Deebo a break and keeps the gadget play on the field.

Have watched more now and I’ll expound.

I see the speed show up on his returns, and after he makes up his mind with the ball in his hands as a receiver. And I see it on the 40. As soon as he u restarts the assignment, he’s really fast.

I don’t see it in the vast majority of his routes. I don’t see twitchy lateral moves. I only see “fine” in that regard.

So maybe it can be coached up. And he’s another pullout to be deployed in the Swiss Army knife offense we are clearly aiming at. And he’s a really good returner, which I’m not at all dismissing. But IMO he doesn’t really profile like a legit NFL WR. A guy that wins routes and catches lots of balls. I don’t see that. I see a guy who can make a nice impact in a few different ways if things go well. And that’s totally fine, it’s the 4th round. That would be a big win! Not seeing much more though and would love to be surprised.

It drove me crazy every time someone in the local media talked about Dyami Brown, and his 4.45 speed as our speedy WR and now we lost that since he's gone. 4.45 speed is good speed for Wr, not great,

Lane is real speed. 4.34. With a sick explosion score with an 11 broad jump. Dyami with a red flag bad shuttle score. Lane with elite shuttle scores.

We will see how well he does. But when the local media talks about Lane as the speed WR on the team, it's actually true with Lane. It was never true with Dyami who was a good but not a great athlete.

Well, Cleveland got Shedeur. Good value in the fifth unless he prima donna's himself out of the league.

Browns took Deion’s kid. Makes sense for them, although now they’ve drafted two quarterbacks. They’ve had a good draft.

Seattle got the better end of the trade deal between us and them for Howell.
What?? He’s a useless player that they clearly regret trading for, and they just flipped him for less than they bought him for a year later. We got a 3rd for him. That was a masterclass by AP
