Thanks SIP I’ve spent like two minutes on him so far lol. Feel like I usually detect play speed immediately though and I’m not seeing it? He doesn’t look 4.35 to me. Terry was that and seems way faster to my eyeballs.

Don’t know much about Lane, but if he has 4.3 speed and can return kicks I get it.

As to Lane he's a sick athlete. If I recall 2nd best broad jump -- 11. Ran a 4.34

His Qb was garbage so his production wasn't anything crazy.

My only criticism is the deep ball is more about potential than what he showed. Similar to Tai Felton. Similar to Felton his super power is YAC. Similar idea to what you see with Xavier Worthy with the Chiefs where you throw him screens and let him take off with the ball.

I'd put money that Kliff pounded the table for him. He fits this system. Get rid of the ball quickly and put it in the hands of the Wrs. He and Kyle Williams were the best YAC speed Wrs in this class IMO. I like Felton a little more because he's an outside WRs who has more tools in his belt. But Lane IMO is more dangerous than Felton with the ball in his hands.

If they find a RB in the 6th this offense is stacked

since it seems we are putting rb off until 6th or 7th can we expect that a late round rookie rb can offer us anything that Robinson/Ekeler/Rodriguez do not already offer? I hope we can snag a guy there but historically do rb’s in that range ever offer much?

That's probably smart especially as you go deeper into the draft and the players are less polished.

Starting 3 will be Terry, Deboo and Noah Brown.

Behind that it’s potential and hope. McCaffrey needs a big camp, he’s competing with guys like KJ Osborn and Gallup for the #4 spot. Lane probably gets the #5 spot and is the primary punt returner (also a battle with McCaffrey).

The tendency is to look at a guy that is 5’10 and 192 with 4.3 speed and think returner, but he is from what I see a more well rounded player than that at WR.

I don’t see anything objective that puts McCaffrey ahead of Lane going into 2025 camp.

Brother, clean your glasses, they must be smudgy if you can’t see his suddenness and explosiveness in those highlights… if he tightens up his route running with those knee chops aka Scary Terry, he’s a nightmare. Plus he’s gadget monster too; gives Deebo a break and keeps the gadget play on the field.
