The 2025 Draft Thread

It’s funny seeing fan reaction to drafting lineman. It’s such an underwhelming buzz kill on draft night, but absolutely a winning formula in the league… There’s nothing worse than your QB NOT having time to throw and missing big plays because the line sucks… or watching 2 yards per carry running backs jogging back to the huddle nonchalant like “what am I supposed to do; oh well🤷🏾‍♂️”

Philly won a championship up front last year; and they’re our rival in our division… the battle starts upfront! I’m pumped… GO HOGS!!!

Inside information!!!!! Adam Peters called me before the draft to see if I could get Bruce Allen hired somewhere so we could trade a 3rd round choice for an all pro Let tackle.

I said we could not; that is why we drafted Conerly

Only one of those exact trades per offseason, makes sense!

KC gets Josh Simmons. Have to think they wanted Conerly.

Not necessarily. They did a ton of research on Simmons and his knee apparently. He is the better prospect now but comes with the baggage of the knee injury and apparent maturity issues

Love the pick. Looks and Moves like an uber athlete. Way more talented up front than last year. Great personality. Young guy.
Whoever looks and plays better on the right side between him Coleman and Wiley will start. Love how with this group nothing is a given. Show me dont tell me.
Wouldn't shock me if he started on the Inside his first year while Cosmi gets healthy.
This group knows what its doing.

Adam Peters needs to get into politics when he's done here.

Man just is always like "everything went 100% according to plan" and is 100% convincing when he says it, no matter how skeptical I want to be going in to his pressers.

Did you see the note from Kliff he flashed? Kliff left it on his desk this morning, it said to take the Oregon Tackle lol

He’s not lying when he says this was an enthusiastic pick

Kliff pulled out so many magic tricks last year…imagine if he can come in at 4am every day like a psycho and NOT spend time scheming around a bad OL…imagine if our running game just worked…imagine if Daniels didn’t have to always maneuver in the pocket so frequently…imagine if our downfield route concepts had time to develop more frequently and consistently…

Soooo as I’m working today I couldn’t stay up to watch the draft unfold. Last year picking at #2 I knew I could go to bed fairly early, but this year with #29, the estimated time of pick was like 4:30am, so I reluctantly slept 😭

But I’ve woken up to all the draft buzz and I have to report I’m very pleased for all the reasons listed above. Feels very much like a move made to make the most of the weapons we have, while also investing in an area which should pay dividends for a long time.

This (and the other moves made on the o line) should improve soooo many facets of our game.
