Yes, this is where the late round gems come into play, I think. I do believe that Milum from WVU is one to keep our eyes on though.
I think so. And I'll start with pass rushers rarely make a big impact in season 1, especially if you are fishing in that 2nd tier. So if lets say we are counting on Ezeirauku to make a big jump in season 1 and muster 10 sacks, we are likely going to be dissapointed. They are likely going to be a rotation piece this season versus change the trajectory of our pass rush.
D. Wise is a good player. Armstrong as a pure pass rusher is decent. 6 sacks, good PFF pass rushing score. Kinlaw who had 5 sacks last year playing part time is going to play some edge. They seemed to make the decision to go for bulk and size on the edge to help stop the run. It's not sexy. But its not a disaster. They manufactured pass rush last year via blitzing the LBS, and likely will do so again. And it actually wasn't bad. The run defense was bad, not the pass rush.
They were 11th last year in sacks. This isn't code red. But from the context of winning a championship, we want that stud edge. But the odds are whomever we take isn't going to be the cherry on top THIS season to turn around the pass rush. It's likely about the long term.
Now as to corners. Sainstrill emerged as the season progressed. Jonathan Jones is a solid albiet aging CB. Noah I is decent at slot. Lattimore sucked and he has an injury history. If things go awry with Lattimore, this team has no depth. CBs tend to get hurt. We'd be a down year from Lattimore and or an injury for that spot being code red. We don't want the season to devolve for us signing corners off the streets and dealing with Nabers, AJ Brown, Lamb and on and on.

It's odd. The 9ers traded for Trent at a steal and the rest of their line just sucked. The Broncos line was retiring when AP was there.
I mean, there is nothing I value more and the SB champs obviously agree resigning their center today and te only team to have more then 2 OL paid 20+ per.
McGlintchy was available4 years ago and we all scoffed at their line.
Granted, AP wasn't in the NFC East then. It's different here.
I haven't lost sight of the posting frenzy that occurred when he was put up for offers. And I don't think AP or other offices have either. If we can get Hendricks for a 2, we would be foolish not to do so. It will be a situation to watch, since we would probably need to know before our 1st pick comes due.

Listening to Keim, I get the impression that on the aggregate their top priority (not saying for this draft) is to protect Daniels and develop a top O line.
I love hearing that, Ron didn't give a crap about the O line. Partof the magic to the Eagles as Howie isn't shy to share is developing a top O line.
Look this division, we got arguably the best pass rushing DT (Carter), best pure pass rusher (Parsons). Dexter Lawrence is the monster some of us dreamed that Payne or Allen would be.
Giants are about to have the best combination of three best pass rushers in the league. That D line once they get Abdul Carter is going to rival their SB D lines.
Having a big time O line is critical but especially in this divison

Maybe, but we got rid of Fowler, Allen, and Chinn who might have been our best pressure guys. I do agree that Whitt and Quinn made a conscious decision to upgrade size at the expense of pass rush skill. Still, it screams more to me than corner. I think we have four servicable corners. Unless Baptiste and Magee up their games we really only have one guy with a knack for hitting the QB. I guess Armstrong and the others you mentioned aren 't horrible at it, but that's not their forte. It'll never be how they make their money.

Booker is a "hoss" at OG but thoughts on Milum from WVU. Milum can also play OT in a pinch, if need even with short arm length but he'd be a darn good OG.

Wagner was pretty nasty last year blitzing from MLB as well. Quinn will generate pressure. He always has.
Fowler sure. Definitely not Allen and Chinn. Allen has a fairly poor season IMO, he had a good post season but I think we can survive losing his 3 sacks. Kinlaw had more than him. And I don't think its a coincidence that they let Allen go. Chinn is IMO a good player, but pedstrian as a blitzer. 2 sacks and a below average PFF pass rush score.
I think their signings have helped them at least tread water from those 3 loses. Really only one loss as to pass rush IMO and that is Fowler.
Their best blitzers were Wagner (with a 90 plus pass rushing grade which is elite score) and Luvu. Wagner emerged on that front towards the end of the season where they seemed to figure out that defenses are cued in to Luvu, so Luvu pulled back and then Wagner would chase the QB from time to time. Also Newton got better as a pass rusher as the season emerged.
But again, if the idea is our D line is code red. The odds are very low our first round pick or 2nd -- whomever they take is going to make a sea change. Pass rushers in the later first are rarely game changers in season 1. They have a much better chance to change their pass rush this season by signing Von Miller than they would IMO having Ezeiruaku emerge as a star from the jump.
Again am talking CB versus D line. there is much better depth on the D line then there is at CB.

Taking Carter over Sanders is us taking Chse over Herbert. It's dumb
I haven't watched Sanders to land on a take. But I'll give the Giants this. They will have three D lineman who are rock stars versus us who have none. But if you don't have a QB, you got no shot, but plenty don't think Sanders has "it". Also Giants might end with Sanders anyway without using their #3 pick.

OTOH, if the Giants have three D Line rockstars it sounds a lot like what we tried (and failed to do) with Chase, Payne, Allen, and Sweat. Feels like bad cap management to get all your best players in one unit. I may just think that way because of how badly it worked out for us.
The difference is these guys have been legit being rock stars or close enough, especially Lawrence. Their 4th guy, Brian Burns is better than any of our guys, too. Our guys are in theory were supposed to be great. But none of them emerged to be so in real life.
Chase was good, not great for one year and that was it. Thibodeux had better seasons than Chase. Carter many say is the best pass rusher in this draft with comps to Parsons. But will see. Lawrence is in real life who we dreamed Payne or Allen might be. He by a mile is better than either player.
But as Mcshay said the other day the draft doesn't matter for any team that doesn't have a QB. doesn't matter how good a unit is. If we had that Giants D line with Jayden, we'd be a hot SB pick.
