So is racking up two misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing that resulted in a car crash that killed two people...but I think we'd take that player in a heartbeat. Young people do stupid shit--it's up to our scouts and front office to determine if they just did something stupid or have real concerns.

Therein lies the question. A lot of people thought Micah Parsons red flags should take him off the board and that he shouldn't even be in the NFL. He's proven himself a helluva player and I t think a decent NFL citizen. Other times, the warning flags are real. People said Darius Guice was too unserious and flaky to make it. Turned out he was too unserious and flaky to make it.

I don’t think he was too unserious. He was too injury prone and a woman beater. Didn’t he almost kill a woman? Choke her all the way unconscious?

It's amazing what you forget. For some reason, the video game thing stuck in my head and nothing else.

Parsons is another example of the fact that pre-draft drama has to be taken with a grain of salt. He had some MASSIVE drama surrounding him out of Penn State regarding a teammate and hazing. Clearly that's not on the radar anymore. Larami Tunsil apparently had a picture of him with a gas mask smoking weed surface.. not a peep since. Lael Collins... another pre-draft 'problem child' who has had a very clean NFL career regarding discipline and decision making.

There have been a lot of bad character players who have dropped and often never proven to be a good person. It Is definitely something that teams need to study prior to using a draft pick on them. I am sure they all will do so on Pearce prior to the draft

Here is one that that was mainly all BS and unfortunately scared Washington off:

1995 NFL draftSapp was considered a potential top five or 10 pick, but due to reports of multiple failed cocaine and marijuana tests released the night before the draft, many teams passed on him. He was ultimately selected 12th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round.

He would have fit a huge need and who knows how it might have changed the teams history. We took Michael Westbrook at 4 instead. He never really did anything. Thanks Norv

On the flip side, it is also possible that all of these are the exceptions to the rule. That we remember them because these are the cases where the player didn't implode and all the ones where they did we forget about because the player wound up being unmemorable. I mean, besides diehard Redskins fans who's going to remember Derius Guise?

... and as I was reminded, Guise wasn't even that good an example.

Probably won't do any deep dives into the prospects this time around. I am taking a gander at RB's and although I've only looked at them briefly I'm not so sure Jeanty would be my RB1.

Not really, but controlled anger is what we are looking for. To me, with so many talented players to choose from, why even take a chance with a guy like this? The character trait has been a big part of what AP/DQ are trying to build.
