Josaih Stewart I've mentioned but he's a pure pass rusher. Not a three down DE. Swinson, L. Jackson, Scourton, JT are three down DEs.

I am expecting CB-DE tonight and or trade down.

For RB, am guessing they don't do it. Only two I love in this range are Henderson. While I think the comps that some of the draft media give to Gibbs is within range, I don't think he's quite Gibbs but I do love him. My other would be Kaleb Johnson. I've spoken enough about him. But I don't think I'd take Kaleb at 61. So many fish in the sea at RB.

Maybe WR. Love Higgins in particular. I like Noel, Harris, Kyle Williams. I doubt they do it. But who knows?

The more reports I read this morning on Conerly, the more this was my thought as well.

Trade is my first hope. It enables us to get 2 needs at the 7-8 range instead of 1 player at the 9-10 range possibly. 1 being lowest - 10 being the highest.

Thanks for the clarification about 3 down DE. Scourton is my guy if we go that route and make the pick at #61, if he's still there.

Day 2 NFL Draft Notes: Browns Could Have Eyes on Ohio State Running Back

Cleveland has a combined four picks in Rounds 2 and 3. Plus, notes on Shedeur Sanders, Tyler Shough and more in Albert Breer’s latest NFL draft intel.

The Browns and Houston Texans, the teams with the first two picks in the second round, were in discussions on trades with the teams at the bottom of the first round Thursday night—and the belief is their mutual target was Oregon OT Josh Conerly Jr.

Obviously, any hope of that dissipated when Conerly was taken 29th by the Washington Commanders, but it does inform you on the chance that either team targets the position tonight.

It had to hurt for both teams not to get him, with the dropoff that’s apparent at tackle after five went in the first round. The next group includes Boston College’s Ozzy Trapilo, who’s considered a low-risk, high-floor type of player, as well as Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery and NC State’s Anthony Belton, both of whom carry some football-character concerns.

I wouldn't be all that shocked if things break in that way (ex. a run on edges). That would be a way to turn an area of weakness into a strength, similar to what PHI did with Mitchell and DeJean last year.
 
I am more and more getting myself ready for the pick to be Oladejo. There is just as much smoke as there was with Conerly. I was just watching some highlights. His pass rush wins look really good. I think there is a ceiling there. But, man. He looks like a menace against the run. I know we used this comp for Scourton, but I also see Ryan Kerrigan in Oladejo. I bet if we draft him, someone on staff references that a bit. Size, arm length, play strength, motor, athletic testing.

Agree. And I am good with it. At a minimum he brings a different style to the dudes we have now on the D line. I do like defensive players who play with swagger and energy. But yeah at a minimum he would be the final of the puzzle I think to stop the run on the edge.

JT and Landon Jackson are a lot of fun, too as for watching them stop runners. I dig edges who aren't just Philip Daniels style you can't run through me types. I do like that. But everything being equal i like DEs with some side line to slide burst and hustle. Those three players have it. Scourton to some extent too -- I like Scourton better than all of them as a pass rusher but I like the other three better against the run albiet Scourton is good against the run, too.

I haven't gone deep into watching him, but love the small sample I've seen of Swinson. But I haven't heard of any interest.
 
One of the trademarks of a great GM is an elite OL, and a telltale sign of an awful GM is a horrible one. Beathard put together the most dominating OL in the NFL. Casserly let is degrade into the worst OL in the league in 98, then went to the Texans where the OL let Carr earn the single season record for being sacked. When Ron took over we had TW, Morgan Moses, Scherff, and a top C (forgot the name) who got injured. By the time he left Howell was closing in on Carr's record (and Wiley was making more $$ than Moses).
 
Food for thought tonight. What happens if Pittsburgh (they don't have a pick in Round 2) wants to trade back into the 2nd with us for Prime's son. Do we do it?

I had the same thought--Williams was not the consensus top tackle that draft either, Okung was. Williams was an unfinished product--highly athletic but wasn't the monster he became. If I recall correctly.
 
Schwesinger is a bit of a surprise there...

I find it hilarious how no one wants Sanders.
