The 2025 Draft Thread

Would love at some point to pick up another Guard / Center to back up Biadasz

I liked Mbow for this. At guard and to backup center.

Great stuff as usual. One thing that stuck with me here, was their comp for Shemar Stewart. Logan used Montez Sweat as a comp. Long, huge, super athletic and twitchy, potential to be great against the run, probably never going to lead the league in sacks. Seemed apt to me.

This is a shift from McShay on Green. He did say he believes in his intel the most as the draft approaches. The thing about Green though is if he falls than as Keim said it likely is because concerns about his narrative so in that context this team would skip him.

But Keim comes off that this team has definite interest in the player and has met him multiple times.

Nolen I heard had some character concerns. Harmon injury concerns.

Top Talents Who Could Fall
  • Michigan CB Will Johnson
  • Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell
  • Marshall edge Mike Green
  • Tennessee edge James Pearce Jr.
  • Ole Miss IDL Walter Nolen
  • Oregon IDL Derrick Harmon
I consider the above six guys to be top-20 talents in this draft, which is why I’m shocked to hear how much uncertainty there is about when they will be selected. I can't remember going into a first round with this many high-end players who have such drastically different draft ceilings and floors.
Texas corner Jahdae Barron is another interesting name to monitor. Adam Schefter reported he could go as high as no. 7, but there’s also a scenario where he’s on the board until the mid 20s.
I was considering Revel in the same group. I have seen him in numerous mocks going before 20 and he has the injury concern.

You’ve already sold me on Booker. Thinking about a Wall of Tunsil, Booker, Biadascz, is super appealing.

Last year, it felt like we had to do so much schematically to cover for the OL. Sliding protection. Chipping. Leaning too heavily on the short passing game.

Adding Tunsil, plus another significant OL upgrade seems liKe it could really open up the offense. I’m sure Peters was already on it, but I wonder if Kingsbury had been doing some lobbying for OL.
Yeah, all of that, plus Daniels still scrambled/ran a crazy amount and our run game struggled against most of the better defenses (even w/ the threat of Daniels running).

I’m guessing Booker goes before 29 and we’re more likely to land Milum or Belton at 61 though. But who knows. This draft is gonna be nuts.

I've been thinking Hairston as CB1 because of the insane speed, but Amos has length and is solid in man, so he might be CB1 for me now. I haven't been as up on prospects as usual though.

Last year I was stuck in a hotel in Miami for 6 weeks for an eye surgery and all I did was watch prospects. I'm in the middle of a move right now and quit twitter, so I'm really talking out of my ass now. :ROFLMAO:

Another note about the oline - we talk about matching Philly, but the Dallas games were problems for us as well. Even setting aside going 1-1 against Cooper Rush and Trey Lance, our backs carried the ball 8(!) times in that 2nd game, and Daniels was sacked 4 times and benched.

I recall your journey last year. You were really on the prospects as a result of all that reading time.

I retire Tuesday so I am hammered with stuff I need to close out. It hasn't allowed me to spend much time on studying this year and I didn't get much of chance last year.

On top of that there is a surprise party for me on Friday night. Yeah it isn't a surprise any more. Work planned it and when the asked my wife she said...ohhhhh, I'm not sure about that , its draft night. Well they told her its the best night for them so I miss some of the fun night, 2nd and 3rd rounds. Oh well lol

I don't think he's seen as a surprise faller, he's been a 2nd rounder in most mocks for eons. The other guys would be surprises at least judging by mocks.

Sure. I've talked about Parsons. And the Giants D line being a problem, too.

Philly though from the context that the odds are better that they are in our way as to winning the division or in the playoffs than the other two teams.

But spot on, yeah their D line killed our O line among other teams.

Correct, he isn't so much now but was at one point due to injury concern. He is now end of 1st to mid 2nd like about 30 other players...any of which could drop or raise tonoght

I like both. But i like Hairston better for two reasons.

A. Hairston is more of a dog with swagger. Both at the catch point and his general demeanor on the field. If you recall Quinyon Mitchell just shutting Terry McLaurin down in 2 of the three match ups and goofing on Terry after an INT where he made fun of Terry's TD dance. Hairston has that kind of personality. I like that in corner.

B. Athletic freak -- he's not just fast but looks fast. No one is running by this dude.

Both have good ball skills. Both can play zone and man. I like Amos' size and I wouldn't say he plays soft but there doesn't seem to be much dog-swagger in him and his physicality comes and goes. But i do like him, too.

I think Hairston can be the next Denzel Ward. Amos, reminds me as I've been saying of Carlos Rogers but with better ball skills.

It's been a long-time since Revel being talked up as a clear first rounder. He does though get some late first round talk. Feels like he can go anywhere in the 2nd.

I think the thing for him is: older CB. 24. Injuries, not just his recent one. And played mostly inferior competition. i love his profile but couldn't really see enough footage to land on a hard take about him.

You are very new to Booker, clearly. That's the crux of the debate about him that we have been having. Great tape, great leader -- poor RAS. Power. Not speed. Massive wingspan. Massive hands. He will bully you, not out run you.

Here are the scouts on him.

GUARDS

1. TYLER BOOKER, Alabama (6-4 ½, 326, 5.34, 1): Third-year junior. “He’s a pretty safe bet to be the first guard,” one scout said. “He has the most solid foundation. Now he may be a little bit more of a gap-scheme than a run-off-the-ball wide-zone type. He’s a big body. Real big personality. He’s very much liked at the school. He’s been paid a lot of money. There’s some maturity there.” Rotated at both guards in 2022 before starting 25 games at left guard in 2023-’24. Last season, one of his starts came at left tackle. “Giant human being,” said a second scout.

“Heavy-handed, flexible, strong, smart, good athlete. Not a great puller or second-level guy but he’s a really good in-line player, run and pass. He’d be our starting right guard yesterday. Guards typically don’t go in the first round but he will. He could play some right tackle in some power schemes.” Five-star recruit from New Haven, Conn., and IMG Academy. “A guard like this, you could take him (first round),” said a third scout. “He’s not super talented or dynamic in any way but he’s big, moves well enough, plays on his feet, good football intelligence, he works. He’ll be good.” Arms were 34 ½ inches, size 11-inch hands were the largest at the position. “I don’t know if he’ll be a solid starter but I don’t think you’ll miss on him,” said a fourth scout.
Thanks for the clarification on Booker, SIP. I really didn't look at OG (I should) have as my thought was we'd take a OT that could play OG and OT in a pinch as most of the OTs in the draft are geared more to OG than OT due to arm length. AP leaves no stone unturned.

Congrads on the retirement. That's exciting.

Shame you're gonna stay up late talking to us and not getting your work done, only to see us trade the pick into tomorrow and have to show up to your party tired, cranky and missing our picks. :D:biggrin-new:

My guys list in no particular order. These are guys I feel like I like more than some in the mock media and also dudes I really liked watching. More edges and RBs because that's the spot I watched the most by a mile.

SIP, how do you like Grey Zabel for us if Booker isn’t there?

Feels like no shot he will be there at 29, so I didn't watch him. But love the profile. Feels the opposite of Booker stylsitically, zone blocker, great Senior Bowl, great PFF grades.

We are on a similar page with most of your picks. I am going to need to look again at Pat Bryant.

Mukuba seems to be underrated on some boards but talented. I actually like many of his intangibles.

I still really like your RB list although a little less on Tuten. All would be great fits. In the back of my head, I am seeing them going Skattebo. Maybe some of that comes from your Skat pushing fro weeks ago.

Regarding the Edge class, there are so many really good ones. A player like JTT feels so uninspiring compared to some of the others ye would be just what they say they want. If we don't go Edge with the first pick, I am going to start rooting for David Walker because he is so damn intriguing and fun to watch
