Tell the Truth Sunday- Divisional Round Edition

Someone mentioned Lattimore, I think he was just targeted once or twice. He was crucial in containing a few perimeter running plays too. He had a great game.

Thanks for mentioning him - he literally hasn’t been mentioned which tells us a ton about how effective he was!

I didn’t see how we were going to matchup with their weapons, particularly in man looks. Figured they’d put Lattimore on Patrick - asking his hammy’s to hold up against Williams would have been asking for trouble. TEs haven’t given us too much trouble this year - lot of credit to Chinn on that front - but still tough to matchup w/ Laporta. I didn’t like Sainristil on Williams (way wrong on that one) or Iggy on St Brown, and I didn’t know how they’d possibly match anyone on Gibbs in the pass game.

So huge credit to Joe Whitt Jr. and the D, and Sainristil in particular. One of the bigger shocks of the game - John Bates with more receiving yards than Jameson Williams.

The truth:

The Skins.
1. This was our best TEAM win of the year. Everyone came to ball.

The Lions.
1. In my eyes this was probably the worst defense we’ve played against this year. I’m sure their injuries mattered.
2. Gibbs is the truth. IMO he’s the best RB we played against this season.
3. I’m not scared of QBs that are statues. Goff was never scary enough as a passer. Our DBs played with a confidence that we rarely see.
4. ALL of the Lion’s players celebrations are absolutely cringe. As soon as they started doing that in the first quarter our momentum picked up.
5. Anyone arguing that St Brown is better than Terry is a clown.

He’s not - mostly (imho) because I think he’s immature - and maybe not the brightest guy on their roster. But he is an incredibly talented WR.

In the Netflix series ‘Receiver’ last year St. Brown came across as an intelligent, humble, committed and hard-working young man who comes from a very close family. I was very impressed with him.

Now immature? That’s how I view Jameson Williams. Million dollar talent though.

Well, he appeared that way on a TV series so…

He’s constantly chirped about how he was disrespected in the NFL draft - specifically directing his unhappiness at Dyami Brown who obviously had no say in where he got drafted. He is a major self-promoter. I’m just not a fan of how he carries himself.

That being said, I don’t know him so maybe my perception is off.

The truth is, the best thing that happened to this team is Ben Johnson backing out of the coaching search this past offseason. And while I’d love to just dump on Johnson, this is less about him and more about what Quinn has done as the head coach. Sometimes the best choices in life are made for you. And the two biggest this year, Quinn and then Daniels, someone else made the choice first. And we should all realize after this, you aren’t settling in those situations. You are getting the best option available and things can turn out better than had you could have ever expected.

You know whats interesting about the commentary for the Lions. They say they had 16 on IR etc......and I say we played with a boat load of people nobody wanted. Which one carries the weight? I lean towards IR but.....still.

Didn't hear anything about that when they were being bandied about as 9.5-10 point favorites.

I will say this - I thought he handled the post-game questions extremely well. So maybe I'm being excessively hard on him.

He was the guy I wanted Washington to draft in our pre-draft pods, so perhaps I'm mistaking confidence for cockiness.
