You're not wrong. This is very unusual for us. We've gone years without major issues. Hopefully this will be the last of it for awhile.

It's possible that all of the technical difficulties this site has faced over the past couple months could have some of those effect on registered and unregistered members returning to the site.
 
The changes in ‘guests’ and ‘visitors’ over the past few weeks is almost certainly due to having to activate more strict human verification requirements. The vast majority of any websites ‘visitors’ and ‘guests’ at any given moment are bots and web crawlers indexing the site for search engines. We have historically had very few tech issues and we will work through the ones we are having. The kinds of things we are experiencing happen all over the web, it is part of the world’s live in so we ask for some patience while we get it all resolved:”.
 
You may find the site is down this morning as we make some necessary changes behind the scenes. Sorry for any inconvenience.
 
We are aware that the current set up is resulting in some issues where the human verification required is 'timing out' and you may lose part or all of the post you were working on. That's very irritating we realize and we are working on a solution so that we don't have to keep the human verification setting on continuously. Thanks for your patience.

Yes Ive been experiencing this for a while & again today. I also get the Verifying Human every time, before getting directed into BGO, when I'm logging in
 
I still am unable to get in on my tablet (no problem on my phone). I’ve cleared the cache and rebooted to no avail. It just get hung up on seeing if I’m a robot or not.
 
Have you tried using a different browser? It will sometimes 'spin' for me too but I close out and try again and it works. The good news is, the human verification piece is not intended to be a long-term fix. We are working on some things in the background so that it shouldn't be necessary the vast majority of the time.

Good news! Got straight to the site today - no verifying anything!!

Thanks for all your efforts on it - much appreciated what you guys do to keep the chat happening.
