As you no doubt are aware unless you have been on an extended BGO vacation, we had some major technical issues beginning Friday evening through this morning. We were unable to resolve the issues via usual troubleshooting and had to resort to installing a site backup from Thursday 1/22/26. Unfortunately, this means that any posts made after Thursday are lost. We hated to have to go that route, but there really was no good alternative. Many members were unable to access the site or post at all during that period so *damage* should be minimal.

We have made a major change in our firewall product as part of this event and hope any future outages will be much easier to manage as a result. This is the longest downtime we have experienced in over a decade and we appreciate your patience as we worked through it with our host server company.

Please use this thread to let us know if you experience any issues, unexpected site behavior, loss in functionality or access, etc... so that we can take a look at it.

If anyone has an issue posting, you will need to clear your browser cache/history as the site is now being routed through a different firewall.

Boone the site is lagging a little bit for me. Not super duper slow, but a little slow.

I don't know if anybody else is experiencing that.

Yeah, I am also noticing that. I will ask our server folks about it.

Noticing this as well (although I would describe it as very slow to change pages/post), also noticed it before the site went down but assumed it was my phone or home internet

The lag is similar to how the last nasty experience began

Yes. We are looking into it.

Clearing my cache for this site fixed my lag.

I believe that our server vendor has turned on an anti-bot setting. You may get a pop-up asking to confirm you are a human when logging in for a bit. But that seems to have fixed the lag issues likely being caused by mass bot attacks.

I did get the bot message but only for a couple seconds before automatic access

Yeah - I'm pretty sure they turned on the bot blocking option so we are back to our normal speeds.

Seems to be all good now.

Boone I keep getting the "ooops something went wrong" and then when I refresh, it takes me back to the "prove you're human" page, which runs for a second, and then back to normal. It's happened maybe 2-3 times in the last hour or so I've been browsing the board...

Yeah, I don't know man. I'm gonna let things settle for 24 hours and then we'll go from there.

Happened to me too, then back to normal. I'm only on my puter, so I don't know what's going on remotely.
