A couple weeks ago, I replaced my monitor, with a $20 monitor I bought from a pawn shop. Within about a week, the screen started showing very faint imprints of the last browser I had open, even after I closed it. And parts of the screen sometimes become partly dis-colored.
They give you a 30-day "Warrantee" with it. I remember they had several other monitors there for $20. I am debating whether I should return it during the 30 days. Because on one hand, this could be a sign that it's about to die, and it's ultimate failure is impending ? Or could it be just a minor irritation that's expected with a cheap, used monitor from a pawn shop, and perhaps it could still last quite a while longer, at least long enough to get my 20 bucks worth ?
If I exchange it for another $20 monitor, am I likely to experience other similar, or possibly even worse nuisances of such old equipment ? Or should I not take a chance of it getting worse, and just return it while I'm still under the "warrantee" ?
What you guys think ?
