I don’t know, but Amazon is very successful. It shouldn’t matter though as long as he can write the checks and hire smart football people to handle the football business.
 
By far, the single greatest day of Snyder's miserable tenure. Gibbs coming back was great but short-lived. This can alter the path of the franchise for the next 30 years.

Exactly; success in business does not guarantee success as a football owner, but Snyder has had many business snafus and we saw how some of the same habits seemed to appear in his mismanagement of the team. There are no guarantees, but the bet would be that Bezos is better than Snyder at least as a football team owner.
 
Compare Bezo's education and multiple business successes to Snyder's - there is literally no comparison. One is a Princeton graduate who's founded and had wildy successful runs with multiple ventures, The other guy is Dan Snyder.

It's laughable that the team is looking for minority partners. Who wants to do business with Dan Snyder given how he treated his former partners? That part of the statement is purely fluff and laughable. It's a full on sale, nothing less.

Snyder is on his own on a sinking ship and now it appears even his wife after being booed has had enough of the crucible of anti-feelings that have grown over 20 plus years of gross mismanagement.

The truth is Snyder should never have been able to buy this business. He had less than $200M of his own money to put into the deal and was carrying almost $600M in debt financing from Mort Zuckerman. Snyder had never owned a business of this magnitude and was only a minority partner in the original Milstein group that bid on the team. Given what Milstein did to the New York Islanders as owner it was amazing ANYONE would trust him, let alone the 34 year old Snyder.

Meanwhile, Sam Grossman had put together an experienced ownership group of successful business people including Joe Gibbs as a minority owner and the Cooke Trust and the NFL decided to go ahead and dance with a partner they did not know at all.

Always a dangerous proposition in business - to take on a partner who does not have demonstrable track record of success and experience into your business.

The NFL could have rejected the Snyder bid and the Trust would have had no choice but to go with #2.

So, the NFL is at fault here as much as anyone else.
 
Put this in the “It could always get worse” file. A new attention whore has entered the conversation.

Someone else evidently is going to front RGIII the money to become a minority share owner in a buyer's group.

That was the word this morning when I first heard the story, but I don't believe this is anything more than RGIII stoking the fires of self-promotion once again.

The Washington football club for RGIII is like an ex-wife he is obsessed with. He obviously can't move on with his life.
 
Per Spotrac, Bobby III made a little more than $33 million as a player. Not sure how much his talking head gig is getting him, but I suspect it's less than that.

My concern with Byron Allen is that he has zero ties to DC - born in Chicago, grew up in LA. He just wants to be an NFL owner - ANY NFL owner. And he is hyper focused on making more money as evidenced by his comments in this interview.

Obviously all billionaires are focused on profits. But I’d prefer someone whose reasons for wanting to own the DC team run a little deeper than that.
