And EDP had a celebratory drink/toast to the firing of Chip Kelly. This one is totally hilarious. Only a minute long, but I would likely have the same reaction as I do not consume alcohol. Still, this is priceless.

Looking at their roster, I could see the Eagles being a decent bet to rebound in 2016 IF they hire the right coach and install the right systems for the players they now have.

You move to a power rushing game, run Murray behind an I-set or single back formation, allow Bradford to throw the ball efficiently on those intermediate and deep routes he has a good feel for, and rebuild the offensive line and defensive backfield in the draft and free agency.

The defense is the worst in the NFL, but not on the basis of talent. Kelly's style of up-tempo offense killed the defense by over-taxing them.

The Thurmond signing was a mistake and they are going to have to get him to play better given his salary but again I see a lot of this as coaching and being better in the draft.

I agree on Center and Guard but I wonder.....

Where does Kouandjio and Lavaou(who was playing well before injury) figure into this?

The other thing that seems troubling/mystifying to me in regards to Lavaou: He was put on IR with a lateral ankle sprain.

1) If that's true, since when did ankle sprains become season enders?

2) If it was a bad sprain and with everyone talking about how well he was playing and how much he meant to the run game, why wasn't he placed on the IR/designated for return?

3) At the time he was placed on IR, I first thought: This is their excuse to make way for Kouandjio....who the staff and Callahan had high praise for...especially on his strength and run blocking, which is what I thought we were all about?

Kouandjio has been buried on the inactive list this season, so I guess that throws #3 out the window,huh?

That whole LG spot just played out kind of weird to me...Any thoughts on this?
 
Yea it's too early to be clamoring to draft a LG (with a high pick)
We just don't know what we have in Kouandy.
It took Moses a year to develop.
Let's give Kouandy a chance.
Plus, Scot has too good of a history of excellent drafting, for us to deem Kouandy a failure, this early.

In the name of 'spreading the wealth' if that is indeed the MO of the front office, then don't expect to see an OL drafted in the first round.

To be fair to Joe Barry, he really needs some more impact players on defense to make things go.

One thing we could use beyond the do-it-all safety is a young impact defensive lineman.

We need a guy that is 22 or 23 years old and commands consistent double teams.

But also someone that unlike Hatcher, Knighton, etc. is going to be on the field for more snaps per game.
 
Where we are drafting, somewhere in the mid 20's, interior lineman on either side of the ball are the norm. Teams usually solidify OL/DL at this draft position. I would like to see if center who can come in and start, if they are available. Yes...DL and safety are needed so if a player at either of those positions comes available, of course they should be considered, but the run game has to improve. We need a center who can run block...an undersized Lichtensteiger coming off an injury is still an unknown and LeRiebus is done. Which makes me wonder how poor De La Puente must be in practices not to be able to unseat him, especially after the LeRiebus injury.
 
Leribus & Long both imho. Those 2 miss more blocks than any combination in history.

If there's a helluva LT I wouldn't be opposed to moving Trent over to G. Or hell have TW at C....IF there's a great LT available.

Edit: Just thought of our line consisting of ?, Lava, Trent, Sherff, Moses. The result was....giggity.

'Sprain' is a very misleading term as it essentially means 'tear' - it's just a matter of whether the tear is superficial, partial, or complete. Quite possible what they are calling a 'sprain' is a serious tear that either requires surgery, or complete rest to heal.
 
I don't care how we get em...but this team needs safeties and DBs for the long-term.

They may want to look at a FA for CB or S but that's gonna be a pretty thin market for guys worth a long term deal. Trumaine Johnson comes to mind and I don't see him staying with the Rams if Fisher stays as there seems to be some issues there. Prince Amukamara is probably fairly high priced especially for a guy whose only had one 16 game season.

Tashaun Gipson at Safety. I don't know that he played that well when he wasn't injured and he was a camp holdout on top of it.

I'm sure there are a couple of other worthy mentions that I can't think of off hand. I know everyone wants to rebuild through the draft but there's holes to get filled then can be done in one draft or maybe even two.
 
I'm all on board with drafting another center.

But sometime very soon we need to draft at least one safety.

Remember, it's like less than 10% of safeties drafted outside of the first round that even start in their rookie years. They almost all have to sit on the bench for a year and develop.

So the safety we'd be drafting in 2016 (if outside the first round) likely wouldn't even be ready to start until 2017. And if we wait until 2017 to draft one, then we're talking about 2018 before they hit the field.

That's one position you can't screw around on. Scot's great at finding amazing talent, but we don't want to paint ourselves into a corner.

The other option is to keep going with vets in FA on one or two year contracts. Why not just get one that can be here for eight years?

One of the beautiful things about our Redskins prospects for the next 5 years? Dallas is relying on an aging and likely physically limited Tony Romo. When Romo goes, Jason Garrett may go with him. Philly is in shambles. And the Giants are going to say goodbye to both Eli Manning and the Tom Coughlin era in the next few years.

The Redskins may be the most stable franchise in the NFC East :) And for awhile if we can keep progressing.
 
That's what I was thinking as well. The timing couldn't be more perfect for the changing of the guard in the NFCEast. Not counting my chickens here, but if we just keep the continuity and chemistry that will be a good foundation.
