JP is trying to push for us to sign Eric Reid. I really hope we don't. we have minimal distractions right now.

Collins was overpaid - he can’t cover and box safeties don’t earn that much.
Reid would be a good addition for the balance of 2020.
One thing we know - Apke, Everett and Kurl = the worst safety unit in the league.
The safety position is among our weakest position groups. A couple of weeks ago I would have said TE but Logan Thomas has made some big catches and at least accounted for himself the past few games.
With Collins out and not saying he was playing at a very high level here in DC, the safety position is being reinforced by practice squad and street free agents who have almost no starting or regular roster experience in the NFL.
I just don't understand the coaching staff here. The team needs to go into the draft and invest a decent pick in a free safety for the future, so what's the harm in signing one of the veterans available and at least try to be marginally better for the balance of 2020 instead of even worse.
Jeremy Reaves and Jordan Brown are not going to move the volt meter. If it was a case of signing a player or two to replace backups/special teamers that were injured that would be one thing. But this team needs players at S that can actually get on the field and not be visibly out of place.
