The pandemic was only 4 years ago but it feels like it was 10 years ago.

And also yesterday at the same time.

So the other drivers insurance company offered us $300 each for our minor aches (which have mostly cleared up) as well as covering all costs of repair. I'm sure we could have sued or something but fwiw I almost feel guilty taking the $300.

I work with Infectious Disease Laboratory scientists and I can 💯 say that an outbreak of H5N1 or something similar wouldn't shock me. What would shock me is a pandemic again, even despite the anti science movement that has taken over American and some European culture.

The next 4 years are going to be hella long though. 😬

Bird flu is wreaking havoc on egg prices...$2.28 for a half dozen generic ones at Walmart. I didn't notice until I got home and read the receipt...almost fell out.

Yesterday, at a staff luncheon at AU, they presented us with trivia as a team building exercise. One of the questions asked what the difference was between violet and purple. I knew the answer. That is, I knew the answer they were looking for. So, instead of being correct I opted for being accurate. When we were asked what the answer was I raised my hand and said, "One is a flower. The other is a color." Everyone laughed. Mission accomplished. Sometimes mischief is the best way to team build.
