Random Thoughts

My friend is at the Braves game, his first time at the new stadium (I still haven't been, he's only there because it's free).

He sent me a text that the smell of popcorn and fried food is overwhelming. I giggled.

In bed rubbing my feet together while scrolling through Bears forums. Their suffering gives me so much joy.

I love this time of the year in Miami. It is the rainy season and every afternoon you get this beautiful thunderstorm. The temperatures have dropped and I can start opening windows and doors

I'm on working on a conceptual data center design for a high density compute and AI provider. 400 cabinets for phase one. 40 million watts of power. That is insane!

My wife is recovering from having her shoulder replaced. She is sleeping in the living room so I took a beer and went upstairs to watch the Red Sox game. It was pretty cool partying in my bed, I felt like I was in a hotel on vacation. The best part was I didn't bother to brush, highly unusual, and when I felt tired I simply turned off the tv and went to sleep.

My friend is at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta until Sunday. *There's a chance I could go Friday or Saturday* (He's got a very cool regular spot and a big camper, a 4-wheeler and a mini-rocket with him).

I'm going to my son's engagement party in Maryland at the end of the month. It's the first time that I'm going to see my ex-wife with her new husband (who I know very well), as well as her entire family. Kinda nervous.

But I'm going to be pimped out and looking good. I wish my love could be with me! :( She would knock everyone out! 😆

Another thing, why are people freaking out about Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl? OMG. I love the various influences in our country from all over the world. Food, music, dance, language etc. I don't get the hatred because he is Puerto Rican.

Congrats to you, your son and his fiance.

Don't have any concern with your ex, you know you are in a better place without her even if your girl can't be there. Enjoy, you have plenty celebrate :)

A few years back my former boss, who is Puerto Rican, was asked for his immigration papers to get his license renewed here in GA...he's been here since 1980. (That just goes to show how incredibly stupid GA is.)
My eyes rolled back in my head so far I thought I'd lost 'em.

I'm going to Petit, y'all!!!

Just above I posted about my former boss...well, his wife works for Mission Tortillas and they're involved in all the racing events around here. She's got me a free ticket waiting, but parking is going to be an absolute nightmare.

What is Petit?

Petit Le Mans...F-1 racing. A small track here. We went for a motorcycle race earlier this summer (he has a season pass, I get mine for free from my friend at Mission).
There's a young girl to watch on the bike circuit, Kayla Yaakov. She's 17 years old, races Ducati, and hangs with the big guys, came in 7th here at the race we saw.
Yeah, he's gotten me into motorsports.

Because of almost 30 years of data center experience with networking power cooling space and infrastructure engineering experience? As well as 2 years plus of AI experience? My LinkedIn and email have been blowing up. Most of it is more Junior positions but some of them are pretty serious. I am so psyched! Hopefully I find the right position for me to retire how I want and when I want.

I got a serious inquiry this afternoon. I replied and sent my resume. He called me back in 40 minutes. Interview went absolutely great. We will see

Good luck RedWolf.

I thought I had found the perfect retirement gig. I work 3 days a week at a golf course cleaning carts, picking the driving range and during the season I worked as a Ranger. The guy who rides around the course helping players and asking slow groups to pick up the pace. It was a magical place made so by the co-workers. Everyone is nice, we all play so it was awesome saying hi and bumping fists with a co-worker on another hole. It's a course for regular guys so the customers are great, I've gotten to know many of them.

But we got a new manager. He is a retired school teacher who I do not believe has ever managed a group of people. I somehow got on his shit list, he's way over the top. It's no fun working at a place while walking on egg shells So despite the relationships I have developed I'll probably be moving on in the spring. Heartbreaking.

Back in the 90s I tried a golf job. (My first sale was a $400 Titleist driver, which was a lot back then.) Didn't work out, but I'd love to have a job like yours now.
I left my clubs behind at the house I sold, shoulda kept my putter...Titleist Dead Center, old as hell, given to me. I loved that thing. It got me a 40-footer in a "best-ball" Applebee's tournament for a birdie...the team did a "SportsCenter" thing on the green
Lots of fun memories from those tourneys!!!
