Random NFL Thoughts

If the NFL views Matt Ryan as the real GM and decision-maker in ATL, then the league needs to penalize the Falcons for violating league rules for hiring GMs instead of denying Chicago those Cunningham draft picks. Can't lean on rules/policy relative to the latter while pretending there was nothing wrong with the process that gave us the former, at least not with any credibility.
The NFL’s credibility ship sailed years ago, never to be heard from again. I think pieces were seen near a parlor of some sort in Florida.

Looks like Russini has been officially suspended while an investigation plays out. I'm glad this measure was taken, and it should've been done some time ago since this sort of behavior is certainly not a new development for her. Such poor decision-making, not to mention reflecting badly and unnecessarily on real journalists (the few that remain), and making things that much harder for young female sports reporters.

Not to recreate the other random thought thread in the stadium, but I hope SOMETHING happens to Vrabel and she isn't the only one who has to face the consequences of bad decisions.

Mrs. Vrabel might exact some consequences. 😉

Mike might find the situation ‘laughable’, I doubt his wife and children do.

That’s probably true but that’s also probably true for Mr. Rossini. I really want the NFL to investigate Vrabel. At the very least.

Not going to hijack this thread again but did anyone see the latest about Russini and Vrabel? This is when he was coaching the Titans and just got married 9 months before. Now I saw a video of Patriots players being asked about it at the facility.

It's insane for a HC to cause this level of distraction, especially coming off a SB appearance. They were renting yachts together while she's 7 months pregnant. She nanes the son Michael and tweets:

Keep looking at my almost 4 day old son Michael while trying to figure out who are the best Michaels to ever play and coach in the NFL?

fI I'm the husband, I'm getting both of those kids tested. I don't judge others but I'm still bothered that she was possibly a mole for him also. Click on the video to play it:

Two months after the video was shot, on Aug. 7, 2021, Russini gave birth to her first child, a son named Michael Andrew, whom she shares with husband Kevin Goldschmidt. The couple later welcomed son Joesph "Joey" Kevin in October 2022.

The son of Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bieniemy has been arrested and charged with the shooting of his mother, Mia Bieniemy, the wife of the Kansas City offensive coordinator, according to authorities in Virginia.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that deputies responded late Sunday to a shooting in Ashburn, Virginia, where they found 57-year-old Mia Bieniemy with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital and was in stable condition Monday.

Elijah Zion Bieniemy, the 27-year-old son of the couple, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling, and is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Eric Bieniemy was with the Chiefs at their practice in St. Joseph, Missouri, earlier Sunday. He was not present for Monday’s workout.

“The club is aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy’s family,” the team told The Associated Press in a statement. “Out of respect for their privacy, we won’t have a comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Do we really want to trade picks for a 31 year old DT who's pissed he's only getting $17 million this season? He's a pretty good player, but he had only 34 tackles in 2025 and 4.5 sacks and his best football is likely in the rear view mirror. Doesn't sound like someone we'd want to give up a pick for.
