Random NFL Thoughts

Rodgers is just a little too expensive for a dude who might win you 4-6 games.

Not anymore he's not. The New York Jets don't want him. In NFL terms, that's rock bottom.

Mariota would probably go wherever he thinks he might get a chance to start at some point. But if that isn't happen then he would probably want to stay if he gets enough money.

The Jags still don't have a GM. I hope they know what they're doing.

Just read that PFF is predicting Shedeur Sanders goes to "New York", didn't say which team...and the Cowboys are gonna trade for Miles Garrett. (NO!)

Cowboys trading for Garrett isn't going to happen, unless they trade Parsons for him because they won't have the money for both.

Looks like errybody in ATL wants Kirk gone. Apparently, he lied to the team about his elbow injury and they've lost the faith. Fans calling in on the radio are just blasting him.

I texted in with "Coulda told ya he was a waste." (and I signed it with my handle here, so they know I know).

Got to put some of the blame on the medical staff, too, but that's really uncool on Cousins part if true. Mind you, it probably is true, but it could be Bruce Allen-level stuff, too.

Cousins will probably end up somewhere else playing for a starting job but he's pretty much done. Steelers might be ok with him but he's probably still going to expect to get paid more than his is worth.

Browns, Steelers, Giants, Raiders, Titans, not much else for him. I doubt that the Jets would do that again after Rodgers bombing there.

Glad we don't have to get on the QB carousel anymore.

My opinion with such a weak QB draft this season you could see a lot of moving parts for FA QB’s and cap casualties too among a lot of teams

Winston
Carr
Cousins
Rodgers
Darnold
Fields
Wilson
Mariota

imho the Steelers might be high on a guy like David Carr if/when the Saints release him, Jets might be high on Fields and I could easily see Cousins to the Browns…. And let’s not forget Stafford might be traded too.

Honestly I don’t see Sanders or Ward being very good NFL QB’s…. mid to lower tier types imho, so wherever they end up if drafted early it’s not going to be 3 seasons in a row for a rookie to shine like it was for Stroud and Daniels.

I looked a while ago and I think the Saints are stuck with Carr for this year because the cap hit to get rid of him is immense. They could June 1st him, but that just spreads the pain out, doesn’t remove it.

I think he’s staying put for at least a year, maybe 2 because of the contract.

There are two teams who are going to be damn fools and pay Fields ans Wilson to be temporary starters and they will get as much from their money as if they walked to a toilet and flushed it.

Fields is just emphatically terrible.

Wilson isn’t terrible. But he’s lost some mph on the fastball and some foot speed and isn’t the same guy anymore.

The best situation for a cousins is if somehow he ends up with the Rams for a low dollar contract. He knows the offense and McVay knows him. The Rams have put out there they might want to trade Stafford. Cousins might be a cheaper alternative.

Some team is also going to pay Darnold. That’s going to be funny.

Extending or franchising Sam Darnold is very dangerous, I can see why they would not want to do that. Does an award winner typically say the other guy is better?
