Not all divisions are created equal
I tend to believe, as many chances as he's had (extended chances), that if he were a true franchise type QB, we'd have known it by now. If he can have this kind of season a couple more times, I'll admit I was wrong. But I suspect Voice is right on target.
 
Just like we don't judge Daniels for one awful game against the Cowboys I'm not sure we should judge Darnold on yesterday's outing. He's had a heckuva year. Not sure if he can repeat it, but he deserves to be the next hot commodity.
 
No one even referenced the game yesterday though. I think the question is which data set reflect's Darnold's abilities most accurately, the one where he went 21-35 with 3 different teams and threw more INTs over those 6 seasons than he did TDs, or what we saw in 2024?
 
My guess is this is the Trent Dilfer story. Trent won a Super Bowl with the Ravens, but everyone thought that he was easily upgraded and would be a long term liability so they cut him and signed Elvis Grbac (I think I have this right.) Then, they signed another QB and another QB, and suddenly this team fell out of the playoffs and into mediocrity.

Sometimes, a QB just clicks with a team and getting rid of them to get a better QB sets them backwards. Frankly, I think that happened with the Vikes when they signed Kirk. The year before Kirk's signing they were in the NFC Championship game. They thought their journeyman QB was holding them back so they went for broke and signed Cousins. The Vikings got worse results after the signing. Part of that is because of the players they couldn't afford to retain because of Kirk's salary and part of it was because Kirk just isn't the QB his stats say he is. In any case, Darnold represents both a danger and a promise.

He may return to the mean or he may just be the right QB for that team and with them everything clicked.

The Cousins situation will happen in SF if they keep Purdy and give him a huge payday. Give Brock big money, they can't keep a few guys and the overall roster is worse. Like Kirk, he's not good enough to hide flaws in the overall roster. Get a good, cheap quarterback (like Darnold) with a good offensive mind (like Kevin), fill out the rest of the roster, you can compete until you find one. You won't be a favorite to consistently win a Super Bowl, but catch the wind right, you can win one like the Ravens did with Flacco or have a decent run at one like SF with Purdy on a rookie deal. The Vikings are the same boat also with Darnold, can't give him big money or you're back where you were with Kirk. There aren't many quarterbacks in the league that can overcome the big burden of their second contract.
 
How vile can one get? Dude is middle aged. Not that it is condoned coming from a young person, but this guy is married at the minimum.

I love to hate Dallas as our historic #1 rival, but I can take my family to Dallas for a game with zero problems. I just straight hate Philly.

 
Fan behavior has been out of control at NFL games for a long time. The NFL doesn't care. Security doesn't care. Nobody cares.
 
Ugh. They have that reputation for a reason. Truly vile and disgusting.
 
I wonder what percentage of Eagles fans are purchasing their 1st book today? I’m sure there is room in their bathrooms next to the Dr. Seuss ones.

One thing that make life so much better today than in the past is when people act like tools they are nearly always exposed and identified. This clown is about to lose his job. I love folowing stories like this and Jack Callis, the Ravens fan who... well you know.
 
Update: Clown has been fired, his name and face are all over the internet. Good luck finding another management position when this is available with a simple search. Philly Fan loves to claim it's only a few bad apples but do any of them ever step in to protect the victims? Did anyone tell this idiot to STFU? All I ever hear is them laughing, they enable this behavior so they deserve their reputation.
