Random NFC East Thoughts

"What we go'n do to the <C-words>?"

"We go'n TRASH 'EM, that's what we go'n do."

"Fuck them up!"

Gotta say, I think the Hall got it right to not bring Eli in on the first ballot. I am not saying he should never get in, I don't have a strong opinion on that yet - but I did feel strongly he was not deserving of the first-ballot. That is a different level of Hall member, and Eli for me does not cut the mustard.

They need a ‘HOF performances’ designation. Doug Williams was not a HOFer but that Super Bowl quarter may never be surpassed. Manning had some HOF moments but he is not a HOF-worthy QB when you look at his whole career imho.

Eli really doesn't deserve to be in the HOF. His Defensive coordinator (who just so happens to be coaching for his 5th ring) and Coughlin however do.

They held that undefeated Pats team that was scoring over 35 a game to 14 points.

Eli had to score 17 that day and barely did. He didn't turn the ball over but putting up 17 isn't a HOF moment. Most QBs in the league could have scored 17 or more that day. In fact Kyle Boller and Baltimore put up 24 on them and AJ Feeley and Philly put up 28. David Garrard and Jax put up 20 in the playoffs on the Pats.

There is also no way he deserved the MVP. 17 points? Someone on the defense should have gotten it.

Besides those Super Bowls he was exactly .500 for his career and was never a top 5 QB at any point in his career. They say, well he had to compete with Brady, Peyton, and Brees, well... Carson Palmer, Cam Newton, and Romo had All Pro seasons, Eli never did.

He's going to get in, just like NY Joe Namath did, but he's not a legit Hofer IMO.

The Dallas Cowboys are getting 50 million plus in cap space by getting Dak and Lamb to take pay cuts/restructures. Will we do the same with Payne and Allen?

Joe Namath is a Hall of Famer for guaranteeing the win and delivering on the guarantee on the biggest stage.

I kinda hope not. I like Allen, but it's hard to know how much he has left in the tank. Payne is only dominant during contract years. For years, we were told we had a dominant D-Line. On paper, we did. On the field, it rarely showed up.

We allowed the Philadelphia Eagles to keep Baun while we are paying Wagner 8-9 times over vet min plus incentives while being not that great in pass coverage...

How did we “allow” the Eagles to keep Baun?

I think we could have convinced him to come here if we'd offered him a bit more than Wagner- Baun, Wagner, Luvu would possibly be the best LB corps in the NFL.

He signed before the Legal Tampering Period. This is Illegal Tampering which is frowned upon in this establishment.

Plus, Baun just signed for the same money Chase Young got, 3 years 51Mil.

That is multiple times more than what Wagner is being paid.

No real way to unless we sign him first.

I know I'm in the minority in not wanting Kupp and I very well might be wrong, but I want a bit more youth and speed. Kupp's savvy would probably be great for this year, but I want someone who will be a threat three and five years down the line more.
