Eli really doesn't deserve to be in the HOF. His Defensive coordinator (who just so happens to be coaching for his 5th ring) and Coughlin however do.
They held that undefeated Pats team that was scoring over 35 a game to 14 points.
Eli had to score 17 that day and barely did. He didn't turn the ball over but putting up 17 isn't a HOF moment. Most QBs in the league could have scored 17 or more that day. In fact Kyle Boller and Baltimore put up 24 on them and AJ Feeley and Philly put up 28. David Garrard and Jax put up 20 in the playoffs on the Pats.
There is also no way he deserved the MVP. 17 points? Someone on the defense should have gotten it.
Besides those Super Bowls he was exactly .500 for his career and was never a top 5 QB at any point in his career. They say, well he had to compete with Brady, Peyton, and Brees, well... Carson Palmer, Cam Newton, and Romo had All Pro seasons, Eli never did.
He's going to get in, just like NY Joe Namath did, but he's not a legit Hofer IMO.
