Random Commanders Thoughts

AFC quarterbacks haven’t looked that great so far either.

Some big plays, but also interceptions and inconsistent play for stretches.

Stafford is the only elite QB in the NFC Playoff field this season. Eagles vs. 49ers just further reiterated to me how neither of those QB's are in that same category.
I do see Caleb Williams rising though. This probably won’t be his year but he’s coming on now with that incompetent Eberflus gone.

Just dawned on me that Morgan Moses is playing right now... wow.

To be fair the Eagles would’ve also lost to the Packers imo. Hurts had one of his streaky off days and his chemistry with AJB has disintegrated. Juaun Jennings had more 15+ yard passes than Hurts did. Trash offense from a trash OC hired by a trash HC stewarding a really talented roster put together by his elite GM. This iteration of that roster is gonna implode now, though. Adios, Eagles

Goedert is a FA too. With AJB replaced by someone like a Denzel Boston and a lesser TE in place, that Eagles pass offense looks even less scary than it does currently.

They will have to set aside money to give their entire starting DL big extensions

We know Howie wants to win and is no afraid to make big moves, Any chance he moves from the dumbass in that poster for a bigger name with a big resume?????

I think Sirianni is safe but I would bet a ton of money they are announcing Daboll is replacing Patullo as OC in the next week or two

He completed 50% of his passes with two INT. He came in clutch when it mattered, and he throws the ball down the field in Ben Johnson’s offense more than basically any QB’s do (with the weapons to support it, to be fair). So I don’t want to seem like I’m hating. But he’s not bordering on elite yet.

To latch on here, he completed less than 60% of his passes in the regular season with great skill talent around him. Can’t be elite with that

I’m seeing people on twitter consider if this could be the front edge of a coming paradigm shift. Saying that it’s like in the NBA, where 30+% from 3pt was discovered to be better than 40+% from long 2pt, etc. and then the meta of the entire sport changed and now it’s a layup/dunk + 3pt sport. Arguing that 55% completion percentage in a downfield offense (deepest average throws this season goes to Caleb in that offense) will become seen as better than 65% in a dink and dunk offense over a full season of scoring more points on average.

We’ll see.

Goedurt is a top-10 TE in this league if you value a well-rounded guy who can block, rather than a glorified jumbo slot receiver. Well worth paying him, he’s underutilized right now because of his blocking prowess and the simplicity of the Eagles’ current idiot scheme. Goedurt would be a perfect fit for what Blough wants to do if he really is bringing some elements of his Johnson/KOC experience into the scheme.

I totally agree. Any time I hear his name called, it's a play in their favor. He very rarely loses yardage.

Wouldn’t YPA account for that then? Per what I am seeing, Caleb finished #19. Mariota, for reference, finished #11

They threw out some stats during last nights broadcast reference Sirianni in the playoffs, don't recall exactly what but they were really good. Having said that the Eagles win despite of him. They could do so much better than Sirianni. Hoping they retain him.

Quick google.... winningest percentage in Eagles history 59-26
6-4 in the playoffs
Made the playoffs in all 5 years as Eagles HC
Worst record was 2021 9-8 since then 14-3, 11-6, 14-3, 11-6

I feel they could be so much better, Howie owns this record in my opinion.

I hate Sirianni but I don't know how anyone can legitimately criticize his performance. Last night was the first home playoff loss for the Eagles in 5 straight seasons of home playoff performances. At some point, you lose one.

He's easy to hate. But his record speaks for itself.

Daboll is the final asshole that will blow up that locker room of massive assholes.
