Random Commanders Thoughts

Same.

And it’s not due to being bitter, I legitimately loathe both of their faces. I didn’t realize when I wanted Ben Johnson, that he was so punchable. I had him pegged as a reserved nerd and he’s actually an uber cocky little bitch nerd.

The parallels to us from last season are there though. Ever since they made that kick against us, our season was officially over and they’ve been on fire. Just like the Hail Mary.

Not sure who I hate more, McManus for missing all those kicks or Lafleur for his refusal to run the ball. Now everyone gets to pretend the 50% passer that can swish it from half court but miss lay-ups is awesome. And I will likely be in a position to root for the Eagles, because that’s how much I want Caleb, Ben and all their fans to cry and go away.
😂 at ‘uber cocky little bitch nerd’ but you lost me on that last sentence! As punchable as Ben Johnson’s face is, Sirianni is much worse. And yeah the Bears fans are awful, but the Eagles fans??? 🤮🤮🤮

That game (Bears v Packers) highlights a big Adam Peters mistake but I think it is a process mistake.

Our ST coach knew McManus. We dumped Slye for McManus. I don’t think rhat was a coincidence and I don’t think that was Peters just doing that. He likes his role to empower coaches.

He needs to learn when to encourage them to use what they have. That single decision led us into the kicker wasteland we are still in. Slye was “good enough” and I think better than Moody. All of that time and money for… less than nothing because it has been a net negative in my opinion.

Caleb Williams is talented but I still think mentally he is a complete flake. His post-game comments while on the face were fine, just something about the way he delivered them, like he is Martin Luther King Jr. or something. I find him really annoying. Ben Johnson is an arrogant **** and I don't like him either, lol...

The Eagles can lose in the NFCCG. Better yet they can lose today. I really don’t care. Perhaps you don’t use much social media. Bears fans have Jayden voodoo dolls and we’re the saddest sacks of shit I’ve ever seen rooting against us, hating on us, etc. I long for there sadness and was ready to troll until Lafleur entirely shit the bed as he historically does in these situations.

💯

Even the game winning TD, he stared it down the Packers gave zero resistance. He did his best to lose them the game and now they get to pretend he’s great.

I think what I’ve always liked about him the least, it’s not the fingernails or feminine outfits, it’s that he just comes across so fake and rehearsed.

It’s like I’m being trolled by the algorithm. All these damn posts about the “iceman” Caleb Williams. Dude was 24-48, yeah he was cold alright. I’m not even sure the Packers didn’t let them score the go-ahead score to preserve clock. Phew.

Here’s an interesting thought exercise. If AP were fired this offseason a new GM came in, how many of AP’s picks make it out of camp next year?

I think LMC, Sinnott, Newton and Kain would all be at risk of being cut in that scenario

I think Peters 2025 draft was a good one given the number of picks we had.

Conerly Jr, Amos, Lane and Merritt all came in and played an active role as rookies.

I TOTALLY AGREE with you about 2024. We screwed the pooch in 2024 with 9 selections and 6 within the top 100.

I was envisioning 4 or 5 guys coming to a 4-13 team and becoming starters or big contributors as rookies.

But we had Daniels and Sainristil as the only full year starters, Coleman split time and had a turbulent but OK year.

But what did we get from Newton, Sinnott, McCaffrey, and the others? ZERO.

And while McCaffrey showed he can return kicks that's not exactly the skill set at WR we needed with a #3 pick. We need more than a special teams contributor at that spot.

Sinnott is buried deeper than a tick on this roster. He is like a gas - tasteless, odorless and colorless.

You wouldn't know he was on this team if you were a fan of another team that just turned on the game and started watching Washington because up until Ertz's injury Sinnott almost never got on the field with the starting offense.

The issues with Sainristil (zone heavy scheme), Sinnott (move blocking/FB/HBack role) and Newton (1 gapping) is they all need specific schematic elements to be effective. Otherwise, all guys are negatives.

And that is not the type of player you are looking for in the top 60 or 70 picks.

In Rounds 1 and 2 you are looking for blue chip prospects that have a clear position to project to and fill in the NFL without needing 3 years of development to get on the field.

I would also say that when Washington had a chance to draft a quality outside corner in Round 2 we traded down and took Sainristil, a slot corner, instead.

To me the outside corner is 1A while the slot is 1B and the thing with slot corners is they are very difficult to project to that spot - at times it's better to draft guys who can play on the outside and then come in and show they can handle slot and they get moved.

If Blough is truly running a more "Ben Johnson" style offense (who knows if he will) then Sinnott can actually be impactful. He is and always has been a move H. We are trying to use him as a true in-line Y.

I will believe it when I see it.

I don’t have the memory of #82 catching the ball in my mind.

The numbers have been that poor.

Tends to happen when a guy is used out of position in a role he shouldn’t have been drafted to fill.

I don’t know if he pans out. It doesn’t particularly matter to me. I’m just pointing out that if we use more under center his true natural position is now going to get some use.

Hell, even if we operate from gun but actually use motion.

To be fair the Eagles would’ve also lost to the Packers imo. Hurts had one of his streaky off days and his chemistry with AJB has disintegrated. Juaun Jennings had more 15+ yard passes than Hurts did. Trash offense from a trash OC hired by a trash HC stewarding a really talented roster put together by his elite GM. This iteration of that roster is gonna implode now, though. Adios, Eagles

I sure hope you are correct.

I had a fleeting thought that whatever their issues the Eagles will probably finish ahead of Washington yet again in 2026.
