Random Commanders Thoughts

How are we only favored by 5 pts at home against the Falcons?
Same reason the eagles were only favored by 3 then eventually 4 against us, because they're better but not certain blowout better just like us with the falcons.

Just read some Bucs comments on Atlantas win yesterday (and that Atlanta is now in 1st place in the South) and now many seem convinced Atlanta will lose to us next weekend.

After week 1, I never would have believed we'd be in this position this soon, where fans of another franchise are hoping/expecting us to beat a division rival who they could not (Tampa lost twice to Atlanta this season)
As I was watching the Bucs lose yesterday I remember thinking during our game on Week 1 game I felt we were not in their class. Now they are out of the playoffs and we look to be in very soon..

I still do not understand what happened with Siebert. Was he so injured that they needed him on IR or was this a way to go in another direction after the misses against Dallas? He was really good for the entire season and I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him than the kickers they have used since. Hell I didn't even know who the kicker was yesterday but his PATs were shaky and I'm glad he was not needed for a game winning FG.

They're not out but they don't control their own destiny anymore.

If we beat the Falcons the bucs are back in the drivers Seat and only have to beat the Panthers and the saints to get in.

I was speaking about at the present time, we are in and they are out. Sorry I was not clear.

What showed to me for most of the game is Washington does not have enough A level players. Their OL is solid but it's a bunch of B level players, the WRs past Terry are C level. They are still a year away but I'm confident in this group's ability to draft and with a hundred million in cap space I expect them to sign a few impact players in the offseason.

The Bucs are lucky they played Washington in the opener when everything for DC was new and players were still adjusting to their roles. I doubt they win a matchup of the teams now.

That said, I am not looking forward to playing the Eagles again this season. With Hurts healthy this team is a level above the rest of the NFC, especially with Detroit missing 5 or 6 defensive starters.

Brock Bowers for rookie of the year is a joke. Yeah, he's catching passes in games that don't matter for a team that doesn't matter.

Opponents don't care how many catches Bowers gets when the score is 0-17 and garbage time is often the entire second half of Raiders games.

I wonder if Ertz was ready to play. Seemed like they used him as a decoy for the most part.

Were they wanting to protect him from getting hit?

I really hope Doug Williams stays connected to the team even though I know Jason Wright is out the door. He seemed genuinely happy after the game.
He was with the team before Jason. Then he transitioned into a mostly figurehead role. I don’t think he does much with the team these days apart from being an alumni liaison. I can’t imagine the Harris Group seeing any benefit of jettisoning him.

JP Finlay said the shoulder was a real issue for him. He had both a concussion and shoulder issue.

I still think we should give Julie Ertz a look at kicker. I bet she could make a 50 yarder. (Seriously, she was a professional soccer player and I believe member of the National Team and maybe gold medalist. I could be getting some of that wrong and I’m not going to look it up. But she was very good.

Remember when Johnny Newton jumped off sides to basically end the Steelers game earlier this season? And there were some damn fools who wanted to cut him and said a winning organization doesn’t tolerate that?

We’re what, 5 games later in his rookie season and:

Public service Announcement: don’t be the damn fool jumping to a conclusion after one play on any player or you’re going to look like bozo the clown.

Newton is also the counterargument for strength and training. Because of his feet he missed every single offseason and preseason snap. He was an observor on the sidelines. He got his mental reps and PT. That's about it.

I was very please to see those stats for Newton. Let's be honest guys, he has not produced much so far and missing training camp was a long time ago.

Concerned about practice being shifted to Tuesday at half speed and them not practicing Wednesday
I'd be surprised if most teams playing Sunday aren't doing the same thing - including the Falcons.

The players and staff are humans too, most with families.

For sure but he a rookie so has had to deal with adjusting to the physicality and speed of the NFL. It appears he is now up to speed!

Hopefully the same will occur with Magee. There have been many posts about players like Sinnott and McCaffrey who even with the benefit of being available in the off-season and preseason are still not fully up to speed.

I was thinking about that whole gameday thread thing the other day and I kinda realized something.
On gameday I get emotional like the rest of us and from time to time vent with something stupid but it's really low level stupid like "we're screwed now" or something like that, not ""cut the whole roster and damn you josh harris sell the team!!!!
I guess when the doom and gloomers get called out I probably shouldn't take it personally because they aren't talking about me they're referring to the idiots who think we should cut a high second round rookie because he jumped offsides. Lol.

You've been watching too many movies or something.

Do you think the falcons are spending the next two days in the frozen tundra of Siberia dragging giant logs up a mountain while washington is eating ham and opening presents?

Overreacting is for losers. We are competitive again so enjoy the game! Mistakes happen and the good teams overcome them.

Now, onto the cool stuff. Is anyone playing with the falling snow? Did you know that you can change its direction with a single touch?

My PC has a touch screen and my cat Sabrina is chasing 'em around the screen and moving everything around...my cursor changes the direction, so she's really having fun!
