How long will Dan Quinn be given to show he can deliver a Master Plan for the Lombardi's return to DC? Joe Gibbs showed it in year 2.
Marty was denied the opportunity to show he had the Master Plan - even though his 2001 season was simliar to GIbbs 1981 season.
Harris is famously patient. If Peters doesn’t stumble multiple offseasons in a row and keeps building up the roster, then Quinn will get 4-5 years barring disaster. If we can’t get over the hump before a Daniels’ mega contract kicks in, then Peters likely gets one more swing at a young offensive guy to take over the situation once Quinn’s maxed out what he can and steadied the new franchise culture for multiple years in a row.
Beats me why that’s already where your mind’s at, though. This feels like a question to ponder during year 3 or so. It’s time to let go of the past and not compare everything to something that happened in a very different league with very different roster building rules in the early 80’s.
