Gotta respect Andy Reid. You knew he wasn't going to stand pat after Rice got hurt. It appears the Chiefs are going to add DeAndre Hopkins via trade with Titans.

As I wrote in another post I think the Titans, Jaguars, Browns, Raiders, Panthers are all teams where we might be able to pick up a cornerback that can add depth to our roster at a reasonable cost given their records during what is turning out to be a lost season.

If you look at Cleveland and Watson, they may be readying for a Broncos-like separation from the quarterback in the offseason and that means reducing payroll. Dealing Amari Cooper was the first move in that direction.

I doubt it as it’s highly unlikely Watson can recover that quickly. Only thing they can do is negotiate an injury settlement, considering his dead cap number in 25’ is $172mil… it’s gonna be a stand off and the browns are SCREWED.


I do however lean your direction as it’s highly likely a sell off is coming and a regression over the next 2 years for the brownies to be completely resetting.

Z’darius Smith is a name my gut says is a possibility.

Wouldn’t hate a good look at their secondary also

Smith, while still playing well, is the wrong side of 30. I'd rather not give up the pick that Cleveland will likely want for a guy that age.

Imagine the career Terry would have had if he had been drafted by Kansas City and got to play with Mahomes rather than the rogue's gallery of quarterbacks we have had here.

Johnny Newton's emergence may underscore another important point. Rivera drafted for need especially in the early rounds. It was child's play to predict what position they would pick in the first two rounds. It was always a player meant to patch a hole (with the possible exception of Mathis). When Newton's pick came up, Washington was desperate for a corner and there was a pretty highly rated corner who had slid to us. What did Peters do? He chose the guy who was a player possibly at our strongest position. A player that we absolutely did not need and made many go "What? He's good player, but... What?"

Flash forward, Allen has a poor year and then is lost to injury. Suddenly, the supurfluous piece is essential. Even more so after we traded Ridgeway away.

Love this! Not only do these dudes always show love for Quinn; it underscores that Jerry Jones had an IN-HOUSE replacement for McCarthy -- and we got him. Bwahahaha

Another random thought. I watched a little bit of the Giants game yesterday and watched their oline fall apart. I think it's fair to say our oline has performed better than expected. I think that's partly playcalling and Daniels' quick release and decision making, but they are also just playing above expectations. A lot of us scratched our heads when Quinn signed the Giants' oline coach. Outsiders mocked the hiring.

The guy deserves a tip of the cap. Even when tackle number three came out onto the field, the unit mostly held its own against a really solid Chicago D.

Weirdly, I'm not sure we have a place for Micah Parsons. I mean Luvu has become a real leader and while he's not Micah, he's got that role. We rarely play three LBs (maybe because of the current roster)

That said, yeah, that was a fun segment.

Now he's back in college and hopefully at a level where he can act in a competent manner.
