The scary thing is, Brock Purdy looked as shaky as any QB I've seen this season in the loss against the Ravens. I mean, talk about 'deer in they headlights' - he looked skittish, clueless, and panicked out there. Maybe that was the result of Baltimore's defense. But if he doesn't bounce back, and looks anything like he did last weekend, this game is up for grabs.
 
So much for the military background, strong character leader to build around. Ron is a complete and total disgrace
 
I disagree Boone.

Purdy is going to have a great game against Washington. Why do I say that?

Baltimore has an excellent defensive coordinator and their unit is top 5 in the league if not better in almost all the stat categories.

It is also a veteran group that is adaptable to the development of week to week game plans, something we don't see here in Washington.

Meanwhile, Washington's defense is minus 2 of its supposed top 3 corners and has an anemic pass rush.

Washington doesn't have a linebacker or safety package to cover George Kittle or Christian McCaffrey.

I have absolutely no confidence seeing Forbes, Martin and Co. facing Samuel and Aiyuk.

On the other side of the ball it's possible we see Washington get shut out.

Probably more realistic to see a 35-7 or 38-10 type finish, but a whitewash is there if we see enough turnovers and negative plays.
 
I'm not predicting a win for us lol. I'm just saying (and we should ALL know this having been NFL fans for a long time) - there is no such thing as a sure win in the NFL. Every weekend teams get shocked. Bad teams beat excellent ones. That's just the reality of the NFL. Purdy was as bad last weekend as any QB this season has been. Yes, Baltimore has a great defense, but my point was that he was making awful decisions and terrible throws all day even when under no pressure. If he plays anything like that, we will be in the game. I suspect we'll get steamrolled as you expect.
 
I don't know... with the state of officiating we are getting closer and closer to the possibility of "sure wins."

Yesterday's example where the Lions were robbed wasn't even in the top ten of calls that can't be explained away.
 
I am increasingly uncomfortable with the intersection of sports and sports gambling. In the modern history of major league sports there has only been one instance of an official being bought?, and that occurred prior to the avalanche of legalized sports betting.
 
I think a major scandal is coming. Human nature is what it is and it seems like it's only a matter of time before someone in a key spot sees an opportunity to make a life-changing bet and succumbs to the temptation. I would be surprised if it hasn't already happened.
 
With the leagues themselves, the owners, the networks, nearly every sports media outlet and podcast feeding full-faced into the money trough, and along with the public’s seemingly insatiable appetite for action…the genie is out of the bottle.
 
Years ago every commercial during NFL games was pitching beer or imploring us to buy trucks :)

Now, it's nothing but sports books - Draft Kings and Fan Duel - and how you are going to get $100 worth of credit for placing your first $25 bet :rotflmao::rotflmao:

You can't tell me that with sports books in stadiums that SOME players in the NHL, NBA or other aren't placing bets.

ON that note, you can't convince me that refs aren't making bets.

He's the guy I think they will get. But it all depends on who the GM will be. I don't want to go down the coach before GM route again.
 
I think if the Chargers bring Harbaugh in for an interview, they don't let him leave the building. Or that he'll want to, unless they aren't willing to give him everything he wants in terms of personnel control.

Only way I'd like the fit here is if our new GM hires him with the tacit understanding final personnel calls are the GM's.
 
Yeah. I think Harbaugh is a hell of a coach. But not sure I want a HC - any HC - with total control.
 
Jim Harbaugh doesn’t strike me as a So Cal kinda guy. Can he utilize NIL money to augment cap space?
 
Does anyone know definitively when teams can begin interviewing GM candidates that are currently under contract with playoff teams?
 
I think they can interview remotely after the regular season but in person interviews have to wait until the postseason is over.
