If we lose to San Francisco (Barring Jacoby Brissett is the greatest quarterback in NFL history and beats them), why not save Ron from himself and fire him so that he ends his career with a .500 record? Ok I’m joking. Mostly. I want him gone. Badly.


Also did anyone notice that Ron has started sucking on candy during his press conferences when things started spiralling out of control? This was his way of rebelling against the mean press that he knew was going to start grilling him each week. The press that doesn’t know football like he and his expert staff does.

Ron sucks as a talent evaluator.
Ron sucks as a game coach.
Ron sucks as a staff builder.
Ron sucks at taking accountability.

So Ron sucking on candy maybe is the way I will remember him.
 
So, I'm not going to defend Ron in just about anything. But I heard an interview with him a while back that he had to constantly suck on throat lozenges or hard candy after his cancer battle because the chemo affected his ability to generate saliva.

I'm not sure if that's the reason or not, but of all his transgressions, I'd give him a pass on the candy sucking due to the fact it really could be health related.

I want him fired after the 49ers game for one reason: I don't want there to be any chance he does something stupid and coaches to win the last game against Dallas. That would be the most Ron thing ever, a moral victory to screw up top 4 draft position for the next guy.

Josh should fire him after the 49ers game, put somebody in as interim with the express instructions to "evaluate everybody who usually doesn't play." Sit Allen, Payne, Curl (who should sit out anyway due to his impending FA period), Brisset, McLaurin, Dotson, Thomas and Cosmi. Treat the last game of the season as preseason game 3.

Ron won't do that on his own. Fire Ron, tell replacement to do it. Pay the replacement well, pat them on the head, say thank you, then fire them. The replacement should not be EB. But I don't really care who it is.
 
I doubt it's ever been done. I'm not sure if it even can be done, but part of me wouldn't mind if they just conceded and take the L without playing. I mean the only thing Washington can get out of these two games are unnecessary injuries.
 
Prevent shell in the secondary while rushing five.
 
IF 🤣 Washington loses to San Fran, Ron Rivera’s HC record will move to 102-102-2.

Would Harris & Co empathetically let him go to protect his legacy by allowing him to end his head coaching career with a .500 record?
 
Let's all remember though that through Rivera's health issues and other challenges it is AFTER that point that the team has atrophied and gotten a LOT worse than it was in 2020 or 2021.

This team is really poor and takes us back to the levels of what we saw in 2019 under Jay Gruden.
 
Now St. Juste, and Jamin Davis are named in the suit against Deshazor Everett in the reckless driving case that resulted in the death of Everett's fiance....



Davis still has the pending charge of doing over 100mph in Ashburn earlier this year....
 
Davis is a great player from the neck down. It's a shame there's not much between his ears.
 
A hill I will die on regarding Rivera and his personnel decisions.... And i'm not talking about the Trent Williams part

I agree. I don't think there's a ton of doubt about what was going on. We don't need these kinds of knuckleheads on our team or in the community.
 
The lack of discipline and immaturity shown by players on this team stems from the laissez faire culture Rivera has fostered.

It’s a forgiveness and acceptance culture rather than a bottom line focused operation.

Ron acts more like a guidance counselor than a head coach.
 
The lack of discipline is really surprising. The biggest thing we faulted Jay Gruden for was his slack practices and lack of discipline. Rivera, if nothing else, was supposed to be a tough-minded, old school, military family style coach. I really wonder how much got knocked out of him after he beat cancer. Maybe it opened his eyes to how important things outside the job are and he lost his drive?
 
Honestly, I'm not sure if we lose or gain by moving onto Lucas.
 
This feels totally like the Bears game in reverse. Fucking 49ers better show up.
