Random Commanders Thoughts

so it would appear the 'tribute' has had a minor addition

Better socks plus ankle tape, facemask tape, and now a Reebok jersey. 👍🏻

They just need to ditch the whole thing and commit to redoing a truly artistic tribute to the man at the new stadium.

Flowers has never been signed and is available? Yeah, sign him up. The only reason not to is ego/saving face one or both sides.

Possible they've approached him and he is not willing to sign based on the offer.

Young is out....big shocker.

I hope we try to trade him in the off-season now.

You can't trade him in the offseason. Without seeing him play, you are not going to get the kind of offer his draft position (and pre-injury talent level) demands. I think a 3rd round and maybe a late pick might be your ceiling. It's too much of a risk for teams to give up significant picks without assurance he can be the same player.

The most likely scenario is that the Commanders exercise Young's 5th year option. They have to make that call in early May 2023, so they'll have to do it with limited ability to assess his recovery.

If they do that, it opens up two possibilities. If he returns to previous form and looks to have fully recovered based on his 2023 play, you do a 2nd contract or you now can trade him after the 2023 season and expect to get good value for him. If he looks bad, you pay him for that 5th year and then release him.

Giants owe the refs a raise. What a screw job

Fuck that. Rivera, Turner, and Del Rio can go squat on a cactus. They all suck.

Stole Robinson’s touchdown. Ignored the PI. Negated a clean 2 pt conversation. We weren’t good. Refs were crooks.

If there's a silver lining in the loss to the Giants I think it's that all this winning was weakening Snyder's resolve to sell the team.

The Giants have a better D line then us
The Giants have a better O line then us
The Giants have a better QB then us
THIS GAME WAS LOST IN THE TRENCHES
they put a ton of pressure on Taylor and we provided almost zero pressure on Jones … zero sacks at home in possibly the biggest game of the year.. credit the Giants game plan of getting the ball out of Jones hand early but they dominated this game in the trenches imo

I just feel the Giants outschemed the DL and their OL did a hell of a job limiting them. Sweat, Payne, and even Allen looked ordinary last night. That cannot happen.

Hopefully this ends any hint of any kind of praise for this team.
You know, I watched the OT on Fox yesterday and they talked at length about the playoff picture and Washington wasn’t even mentioned.
In retrospect, I’m glad because they deserve nothing.

The only positive from last night’s game is that this place is much more active after a loss than after a win.

So there is that. The life of a Washington fan.

Something I was discussing last night with my family. Who on the offense is responsible for calling out blitzers and changing the protection? I remember 3 or 4 times the Giants had someone running free and no one to block them. Usually it was on the blindside. But I don’t see Taylor calling out the blitzers like I see from other QBs. Occasionally I see him doing something which could be changing the play or changing the blocking. But I see other QBs always identifying the guys before the play. Maybe it’s all on the center in this offense and not the QB. I didn’t know if anyone else has heard how that is supposed to work for this team.

Wonder if the hold up on Chase Young is more psychological or physical at this point. I suppose it could be the coaches not wanting to mess up the D-line chemistry (if ain't broke don't fix it, too)
