Random Commanders Thoughts

From you lips to God's ears JP

Nope, I’m already processing he won’t be there at 11, neither will Hamilton

Lol. Somebody is going to be there Win... possible but I think you're wrong and one of them will be there. Interestingly enough, I think London has climbed while perhaps the more talented receiver Jameson Williams may have slipped a bit. That wouldn't necessarily be a terrible thing.

Yeah I definitely want them to take Hamilton, but Williams or London would open up the secondary like crazy.

Both Dotson and Mathis refer to 'taking Command'in their initial videos. Not sure how that sits with me. Feels forced and for PR

Interesting.

Indy introduces Matt Ryan as new qb and talks about being successful and advancing in playoffs.

Wasn’t Ryan the qb when Atlanta suffered the worst choke in Super Bowl history after losing a 28-3 lead?

Yes he was. And his playoff record is 4-6. The year of the worst choke in super bowl history was the only year they won 2 games. He's had 2 good playoff seasons. One was 10 years ago, the other was 6 years ago. Ryan has been a good QB, but not recently. And his playoff record isn't all that great either. This is just them trying to sell this to their fan base.

and Indy continues to be commenting on Wentz... I will say that a lot of the time they're asked a question, but instead of just saying "Things didnt work out with Wentz, we're not looking back, we're looking forward".... They instead continue to be elaborating and talking about disconnects and things. It seriously feels like a guy who over-reacted over something stupid and is continuing to justify the move, despite interally realizing it was a mistake.

Washington needs to find a LB named Mike. They already have a Will. If Will plays Mike it would just be too confusing.

Glad we didnt get the "well we were injured" or "we were cloaser than people think" type answer.

Nope... we got our ass kicked

We got our asses kicked in the passing game. Against the rush we were 8th in yds given up, 11th for TDs given up, and 7th for scoring drives given up.

We get our safety and corners playing well and everything changes.

Odds we start the regular season on the road against the Colts?

About 99.9% :)

I was thinking a Thursday night game. I doubt that is attractive for a Sunday or Monday night game. But Thursday could give it more attention and let them hype the game.

WJlll put into a system that he was unaccustomed to. Collins used at a position he was no longer good at. Fuller exposed in the slot instead of outside. Davis not deployed in a way that took advantage of his obvious physical skills.

That only took the DC, what, 6 games to figure out?

Yeah, not 'defending' the defense's performance - they absolutely underperformed and Del Rio didn't seem to have any immediate answers. Just pointing out the vast majority of our issues were against the pass.

And that also goes to the pass rush that was non existent early on. Good team defense allows everyone to look better. Good early coverage by the DBs, and a pass rush that doesn’t let the WR uncover and get open. They need to do better at both this year.

No, I got your point.

Del Rio is my personal whipping boy until he proves differently. I, probably unpopularly, feel that Turner deserves more benefit of the doubt for last season than Jack does.
