Random Commanders Thoughts

@burgold… the more I consider this the
more I hate it and come to your side of the fence. If you know you’re going to let Payne go, you have to retain at least one of the others. And if you want to trade him, do it when the market is hot for Gods sake. You’re all but telling the league ‘we don’t like this guy and don’t want him here long-term’. Hardly a great marketing ploy. And there is zero guarantee if we keep him another year that we get a compensatory pick since that depends on who we sign as well.

How many times are we going to let that scenario unfold before we figure out an alternative plan?!
 
I might’ve waited for them to repair the brown dog piss patches before I did my reveal, but hey, that’s just me :)

Om and I were talking about our personal comfort level with ‘Commanders’… I’ve gotten used to hearing it - but seeing it on something like the home field endzone - that is jarring as hell.
 
Yup. Seeing and hearing it is less embarrassing already to me. Some.

But saying it is different. I have yet to be able to use it in conversation without an inflection that comes out sarcastic ... like it has air quotes around it.

Well of course, we won't be using the full name, just like we didn't use the full name Redskins...we'll be calling them the "Ders"

Definitely a sarcastic inflection to that one !

I'm more and more feeling the same way.

If that's the plan, keep Settle.

The ONLY way I feel better (and we'll never know) is if this was the plan all along... I may not agree with it, but it'll feel less awkward if we know they're thinking past today with these moves.

Maybe Wise and Smith-Williams ball out and prove to be viable starting studs... maybe.... ?

I believe the plan is to bring Landon Collins back to play DT.

He has valuable position flex.

I think he's the X factor when it comes to our first pick . If they truly believe he can stay healthy and be relied up on then their really is not urgency to go after a receiver with the first pick. Terry,Curtis and Dyami potentially could be more then a formidable 3some . I think if they go receiver they don't have that faith in Samuels
 
In my dream last night I heard an announcer referring to the Commanders as ‘the Dubs’… guess that would be referring to the ‘W’… hmmm?

it's not the worst of the options... no real tie to the team name, but it's not the worst

Just wait til people start making plans to go watch our games at Buffalo Wild Wings.
They'll get real cute and be like, "Hey you wanna watch the Dubs at B-Dubs ?"
