Quick snippet from Logan Thomas about Wentz…..this part caught my eye…

Is he just being a homer or this an unintended jab at Heineken?

No, not a jab at Heine at all.
Because based on the context, pronouns, etc, Thomas is definitely talking about Wentz, not Logan's own self, as far as him having the most talent around him now

I heard the interview and Logan Thomas was ASKED about Chase's recovery and how it aligned with his (also coming off a blown knee), and his response was along the lines of "he had surgery a month before me, but we had different injuries, they used his patella from the other leg... etc"

It was a passing comment about why they're on different timelines, not trying to be a medical expert, and it was in response to a question... not going out of his way to speak to it.

On the tweet, the phrase "That can't be great" was spoken by the blogger rather than Thomas.
Also, Boone referenced talking heads.
So my guess is Boone wasn't referring to Thomas, but the outsiders that spoke about it.

Just a poor choice of words. I wasn’t intending to reference Logan at all, but rather people sensationalizing routine things.

It all depends on who is there and who they like. I don’t think they have to take a WR. They definitely shouldn’t reach or pass up a better player for a WR. But their receivers are still McLaurin and some question marks. If they believe they are picking a top WR, a special talent, you do it.

I was thinking about this and I'm not sure that's true.

This depends on a few ifs, but if Samuels and Thomas recover, then our weapons are McClaurin, Samuels, Thomas, McKissic, and Gibson. If Wentz's arm and a year under his belt can help Brown become a deep threat that's pretty good, too. We actually have a good group of weapons with speed. Last year, because of injury and QB limitations we couldn't take advantage of them. The reality is... we don't know what we got. That's both a reason to add a weapon and a reason to look to safety and linebacker if you think that's really the BPA.

Can’t recall which thread it’s in but SilentThreat posted some good analysis on Brown & company for the 2021 season. Dudes were open, a TON but between Heineken & Turner they could not put it all together.

I'm starting to wonder if they actually do feel like WR is not a major need. There was a substantial investment in Samuel, and I wonder how much they look at last year's offensive shortcomings mostly due to injuries and limitations at QB (not necessarily Heinicke, but the fact that the starting Qb attempted 6 passes... and if they truly believed in Heinickes physical ability, Fitz probably doesn't get signed to begin with).

I wonder how much the team is looking at Wentz as the missing piece. The arm that holds the key to opening up the offense.

i also wonder if Turner is perfectly content with the offense from last year and truly believes that it would have been effective, had we not been crushed with injuries across the depth chart. I dont necessarily agree, i just wonder if he believes that (and he just got an extension so Rivera must believe in Turner on some level.

If Terry stays healthy, if Samuels returns and stays healthy, if Thomas returns to form, and Brown takes a couple of steps forward, then the position is fine.

Not exactly a likely scenario for this team. More please.

It always seems to me any way that all the other nfc East teams have invested hard in the #’s 1, 2 and sometimes 3 wr’s. Not our team though. I’m fine if they go wr at 11, tho Hamilton fills a major need in the secondary w/ more importance.

you wont hear me argue.. but to try to look at things objectively

Prior to last season, Samuel had only missed 4 games TOTAL the previous 3 years, including only 1 over the last two... Last season was the year that was out of the norm (now lets see 2023 and see if he can recover, i get that, but we're not talking about Malcolm Kelley...)

Brown showed the ability to get open last year, it was there. What kept Taylor from hitting him? Was it the arm? Was it a schematic flaw where the read was too far down the progression, so Taylor never got to him? Was it that Taylor didnt trust him? I dont know. I do know he was open, at times for what appeared to be explosive plays. There is no guarantee those plays happen this coming season because defenses will be playing us differently, but i don't think Brown was as far behind the curve as it appeared.

Thomas is a major concern, which is why we could see an inivestment at TE in the draft like Jelani Woods....



I am 100% for adding as much talent around Wentz as we can, and if you draft a guy at 11, Terry takes yet another step, Samuel comes back and is healthy, Brown starts balling out, and Thomas / Bates / McKissic / Gibson are all in the huddle telling Wentz, BRO I WAS OPEN! THATS A GOOD THING! I'm with you there....

We had a failed experiment with a 6'4 Gandy-Golden.

I have to believe that Drake London is Ron's choice on Thursday if available.

History suggests he doesn't like operating without size on the outside.
