All we need is Trent to get on the field and then get an ACL or MCL.
Better to have him sit.

From the Washington Post today on the qb situation:
“The Redskins' offense is considered to be a difficult system to master quickly. Before he got hurt last year, quarterback Alex Smith appeared to still be thinking his way through some plays in his first season with the team, and Keenum likened studying the Washington offense, installed by former Coach Jay Gruden, to learning Portuguese — which many consider to be a complicated language to grasp.â€
Sounds to me like Brian Mitchell was right about the need to simplify things in today's league where there is regular turnover on the roster from year to year and you have to be able to transition players.

This whole thing is madness. What has Jay Gruden ever done with success that he demands such a complicated offense that his players must learn. If Keenum, a veteran who has been around calls it Portuguese, then you know it's too complex. Where is the adapting to your personnel? Where is simplifying and focusing on execution? How can your players be prepped for games if the system is that complex? This is just another example of being a terrible coach that's more focused on your system than on winning.

I will give credit where credit is due...Gruden's passing offense works, but not when the OL cannot give the QB time to develop or the QB doesn't have the vision to see the open man.
Pull a handful of random pass plays to watch.
On almost every pass play called, there was a man open. The problem was the OL could not keep the QB from missing the open man, or in Cousins case he went threw just reads 1 and 2, no matter how much time he had...leaving the man wide open downfield.

But what good is that if you don't have the players to run it? Whether it's the OLine, the QB, the RB, or the WR? You have to adapt to your personnel to get the best out of them. It's what all good coaches do. Steve Spurrier had a great system too. Guys always wide open, but no one to pass block. Chip Kelly had a fantastic system, but he wore his own team down and couldn't kill the clock with the lead if his life depended on it. It's always about finding a way to get the most from the guys you have. It's not just a Gruden problem, it's a problem all across the league with coaches who are never better than average. Gruden was just our latest example of that.

Callahan said this hours after NFL.com reported he passed. I wonder which story is true? Now they're saying Puff-Puff-Give has failed his physical because of discomfort with his helmet. I'm so shocked. Can you tell how shocked I am?
This team is such a freaking disaster. Can it just move to Jalalabad or something already? At this point, even its history can't save it.

Shades of Al Saunders...
I miss the Gibbs I days were the team had like a dozen plays, practiced to perfection, tailored to the talents of the players running them, and run out of hundreds of formations to keep the other team guessing.
