What's wrong with him?

A 30 year old guard that has made 3 pro bowls and helped GB win the Super Bowl gets cut?

It's not like Green Bay has a Dallas like front line of young high picks budding for the pro bowl.

I was wondering the same thing.

I think he's a FA next year. That could very well be it, depending on their cap situation.

How about Akeem Ayers?

6'3 and 255, 27 years old, former #2 draft pick who started for NE in the SB against Seattle.

In his best season he had 104 tackles and 6 sacks in a role at OLB.

We could definitely use some better athleticism and depth at OLB.

cost cutting and suffers lower back injuries. Maybe sometime as a backup would be good. Think he had surgery in the offseason but not positive.

Ok I didn't expect him to land a contract THIS big.

What are the Bears doing? :)

They aren't going anywhere in the NFC North this season. By the time the Bears are contenders Sitton will be long retired.

Well...they're signing Logan Paulsen. Glad to see he landed on his feet, quickly. Kid deserves another chance.

If you're on twitter, check out John Keim's videos of Josh Doctson practicing today.

I'm sure he's still rusty, but he looked great against Toler.

I bet you, if I was willing to bet, that Cullen Jenkins is on the roster after week one.

Also...

Matt Jones says he will be ready for the game next Monday night. I call it...
The Robert Kelley Healing Method.

I can understand the advantage to not guaranteeing a base salary for a running back or backup quarterback, but a DT?

I would have thought having Jenkins in here working with the coaches and preparing for the season would be worth any risk in giving him that veteran minimum guarantee.

With Jones, I still tend to fall into Cooley's camp of thinking that Matt, while a superior athlete, has some issues with trying to become a regular starter in the NFL - namely, his upright running style (clue to injury) and his lack of superior vision as a runner to hit the holes.

Cooley thinks Kelley is a better candidate to be productive between the tackles in the NFL. Nothing I saw in the preseason made me think he was wrong.

First time, in how long, we won't have a true FB on the active roster ?

Since the Louisiana Purchase.

Look, I know we traded FB Benedict Madison in 1792, but Paris got their draft pick back when he failed a physical. We put him on injured federal reserve. Boone was pretty upset about that deal. The extra pick could've yielded that young stud - Benjamin Lincoln.

Forget the fullback. A TE can fill in that spot in short yardage.

If you are going to worry about the offense, focus on getting the center position stabilized and starting to get these backups including Kouandjio and Reiter to the point where they can take the field and perform in an NFL game.

What's up with Arie? Fourth round pick taken two years ago from a major college program at Alabama. He should have had his first 'look see' in the NFL by now, but appears to be buried deep on the bench.

Pittsburgh is currently favored by 3 points, and the over/under is the highest of any game this weekend, at 50 points.

That's an insult.

Dude was a stud, and a bad mofo.
Remember when he tore both ACL and MCL in his right leg, and instead of having surgery, which was still experimental at the time, he opted to play with a wooden leg.
