I wish I lived closer to VA to go to a practice this weekend. I'm super jealous, and super pissed.

I'm dying to see live football so badly right now that I'm seriously considering driving over to Tampa tomorrow morning to see the Bucs.

On the other hand,reading that Keith Marshall has looked good in camp...so we got that going for us,which is nice.

This all depends on what source you are listening to.

McLovin said he thinks that Matt Jones has looked the best, and called him the next "breakout" player.

Others say Ty Nsekhe looks incredible. Like a 10 year starter.

Fwiw......Marshall is currently believed to be the 4th or 5th string RB.

And here is Rich Tandler on where the RBs currently stand. Much of Rich's stuff I find to be fluff, but this is actually worth a read.

To sum it up, there is Matt Jones at the top of the depth chart going into the first preseason game followed by Thompson, Kelley, Brown, and Marshall. It’s hard to see it remaining like that when Week 1 of the regular season rolls around. It seems likely that one of two things will take place.

Kelley could move into the No. 2 spot. I’m not sure if he has gained the trust of the coaches just yet but he has four preseason games and about 25 practices to make that impression.

Or, they could sign a veteran running back. Such a move has been much discussed but it doesn’t seem to be imminent.

Jones will be #1 no matter what, simply because we don't have anyone else.

If we start randomly bringing veterans in for a look it's time to start worrying.

During the offseason, the NFL also voted in favor of moving touchbacks out to the 25-yard line instead of the 20-yard line.

That means the Redskins, and really all NFL teams, could get a little creative on kickoffs.

“We’re going to experiment,” Gruden said. “You know, we’ll see what Dustin [Hopkins] is good at. You know, we’re going to try some of the pooch stuff and try to pin them back. You know, we don’t want to just succumb to the 25-yard line. He’s got a powerful leg and one of the reasons he’s here is because of his leg strength and kicking the ball off through the end zone. But he can get the height and pin people back to the one if we get them tackled inside the 20. That can be another great option for us.”

So, does this favor the likes of Kai who had a tough time getting through the end zone?

Pretty sure Hopkins can handle it with the high ones tho.

But at some point during Training Camp, I would hope and expect a $75 Million Corner to do some schooling of his own.

I also believe we will see more squib kicks that will disrupt the opportunity for a legitimate return. I know the league wants more scoring, but they are certainly making some questionable changes.

That's not true. You can fair catch on a kickoff. You see it a few times a year when a team tries a pooch kick.

But I agree with the rest of your post. I expect more squib kicks and high kicks, which in reality doesn't do anything for safety. Which is what they supposedly are touting with these kick off rule changes.

Yes it's still fair game, whether it hits the ground or not.
But the receiving team still has a right to Fair Catch a kickoff, thus trumping the "fair game" for the ball.

So basically, "fair game" and "fair catch" are 2 different things, and whichever one happens first, cancels out the other.

So it seems the team is moving Murphy back to lb since Daniel's shoulder injury. Hope he finds a spot to settle but I'd bet his whole tenure will be wtf to do with him.
