Random Commanders Thoughts

Desean, Culliver and Reed are all watching practice from the sidelines today.

I'd love all three to play on Sunday, but would settle for even 1. Culliver would be big if he's healthy.

If I go, I'm going to drag as many of you losers along with me as I can.

Life is short. The opportunity for epic adventures are limited. I will take that opportunity and hope a number of folks here consider joining me. They have beer over there!

I could probably be talked into going. :) I had some friends move over there a few years ago and I've been using up my frequent flyer miles to go visit them. What's one more trip? :)

All three have been officially ruled out.

That's fine.....but I expect to see Desean and Culliver back next week at 100%.

No need to rush either of them. We should be able to handle Tampa at home.

Rather have them both at peak for Jets and Cheatriots on the road.

Here's an interesting idea I just heard from another diehard fan. It won't happen, but it makes sense on a few levels.

This weekend only. Crowder on one side. Grant on the other.

Garcon plays TE.

Now think about that for a second. Grant and Crowder get invaluable experience going forward. Even if we lose.

And no one could stop Garcon as a TE.

Garcon as a TE would immediately be top 3 in the league.

I see a lot of value in that idea.

Mix Ross in at WR when another needs a rest. Let them learn the game as young guys.

And let Garcon dominate inside on 3rd and eights.

That kind of thinking could pay dividends for the team if they are truly focused beyond just this week.

It would also catch Atlanta by surprise.

ha ha, I talk to myself at work. When asked, I say sometimes I'm the only one that will listen to me.

McD you have hit the nail on the head. This game is the litmus test, imho, for Kirk. He will have to air it out. All day. Their secondary sucks, their run D is good, and they score lots of points. It can only mean we will throw a lot. If I'm wrong, then we are truly on to something special.

With our top two receivers out (or at least two of our top three) I suspect we'll be running it all day. We'll have to throw it just enough to keep the defense honest, especially with the limited weapons ae have at receiver. If we air it out all day, that would be an ... unwise plan of attack. In my opinion.

We should never count on reed being in the game again. Be happy when he is, but depending or counting on him is only going to upset you.

You get concussions, it's unfortunate. But it's not something a player can control. Anyone 'upset' by a player choosing to have a functioning brain later in life vs. playing, they aren't thinking straight. That's not directed at you - I'm just stating the obvious. NFL football is a violent game. We'd better get used to guys missing time for concussions. We've seen what happens when we leave it up to the player. Just ask Junior Seau.

Best defense is a long time eating running drives. Limit the time they have to score. Not confident in the D for this game. Interested to see what they come up with.

I'm not saying that it's his fault. I'm saying that he's not dependable. Any arguing that is futile. I can't ask junior seau, he's passed. But I'll ask tyler and I'm sure he'd agree.

I know Seau passed. That's kind of the point.

Cool..

But my post isn't personal or attacking your favorite player. Reed is not dependable to be on the field. He's hurt too much, he misses games all the time. To depend on him to be a starter will just make you disappointed.

I gotcha. I absolutely get your point. I just don't like some of your word choices, and maybe I'm nitpicking. 'Dependable' for example - he's damn dependable. He's not always 'available', but when he's on the field he is plenty 'dependable'. To me, dependable is a descriptor related to effort and desire.

All that being said, I think Gibbs was the one that said 'the greatest ability, is availability'.

Hard to argue.

Not having him this Sunday is a killer. Hope Carrier goes Carpe Diem on the Falcons ass.

The Washington Redskins are bringing Ri'Shard Anderson (CB/S, Syracuse) in on Monday. Was w/the Tennessee Titans in 2014 and camp this year.

Come on Culliver. Get healthy. D Hall too.

I love to watch McLovin work though.

I believe DeAngelo Hall is done. Just my sense.

Really? I was expecting him back....at least for the rest of this season.

I'm more concerned that Jordan Reed might be done. I don't see how we can bring him back next year.
