Random Commanders Thoughts

Well, as Mike and others have said, doesn't matter how talented a guy is if he can't stay on the field. And the concussion thing - it's especially tough since, once you've had a couple, you are going to be prone to reoccurrence. It's not really 'if' it's 'when'. I was hoping it was just a minor ding and he'd be out there this week and continue having a great season. Doesn't look good right now. Hall may be back this year - because we are so desperate at that position, we'd likely play him even if he's only at 75%. But I think this is his last season in B&G. He'll never be the guy he was prior to the injury again, and we need to get young at corner.
 
I agree with you that this is likely Hall's last year. I do expect him back though.

We are going to need to address that secondary early in the draft next year. Somewhere between rounds 1 to 3.

And unless we can get a FA TE, we probably need to spend a top 5 pick there too.
 
Hall has had 3 significant injuries in the past year...and the achilles 2 times. He is too old to be able to keep bouncing back and playing like these younger cats...as shown by Hopkins on the Texans
 
I would be amazed if Hall is here next year. I'll be borderline surprised if he plays 3 more games this season at CB in a Redskins uni. I feel like he'll be back, but for how long, is what I question..

I don't get it, they swapped out the Saints/Philthy game for the Seachickens game.

Totally agree with you Henry. but I didn't say the game plan is to air it out. I said they have a stout run D and score a lot. We go down early, and we probably will have to change the "ground & pound" game plan to air it out. I do believe we start the game with the Morris plan. This is one time I hope we win the toss and take the ball. Like said, if the run game sticks, we are truly on to something special. Let's hope the run doesn't get stone cold stopped like against the Giants. My take is to win the game, it will have to be low scoring affair, close into the third qtr, then kick a winning field goal. That would work for me, ugly or not.

My gut says though, the run game plan will morph into the air it out game to catch up. ( My apologies for not mentioning the impact our defense will have. Julio has a toe and hamstring. Imo our secondary has to jam him often and he'll lose a step for sure. It may be possible to neutralize him. )

edit: here's a nugget....forgot to add, Falcons have the longest active streak at 16 games, for holding opponents to under 100 yd rushing. Unfortunately, that's not a fluke.

the nfl is smarter then all of us.. you didnt know?? They know what we want better then we do, and they will give it to us on a dirty platter.

I gotta say, I am not upset by the loss today. We played hard, Kirk had a helluva drive to tie it with only 24 seconds to do so, our young kicker tied the game with a 52 yard FG, and our defense held one of the best offenses in the league to a very hard earned 19 points.
 
We're improved over last year & that's a positive. How many times in the past would the skins have folded up?

We're getting there imho
 
Next week we play a tough team at a place we generally don't play good at but if we can get desean back and culliver it will help
 
Breeland is developing into a really good cornerback. He's top half of the league as CB1, and he's top 5 in the league as CB2 imho.
 
They beat us running, passing, and when it mattered. If we don't cover freeman with Compton, if we make the fg, if we make the 2pt conversion.....if if if

Today's loss hurts. It hurts a lot.

In the end, I suppose that's a positive take away.

While it's early in the season, at 2-2, this was a big game. You want to be in situations where the wins feel a little more special and the losses hurt a bit more.

That's what you sign up for as a fan and it comes with the territory.

It sure beats losing bad every week and being a non-factor.

The competitiveness is refreshing.

We simply can't let expectation and hope cloud things and consistently remember that 2015 is all about growth.

confession: I turned off the TV at half time and played a round. passing accuracy in first half queued me in it wasn't in the cards.

we're competitive now - and that is what McL promised. he'll continue to build. am a bit nervous abt what happens on defense post-season: there is some aging going on and some short-term contracts. guess plan is to slowly build/replace thru the draft.

also...going against grain here: I'd prefer to see P. Smith in the game more often. all I'll say.

The NFL will move the Redskins to LA and change their name to the Los Angeles Caitlyn Jenner Hero Squad.
 
21. Washington (2-3; No. 22): Despite the loss in Atlanta, they need to be taken seriously. Especially in a division that shouldn’t be taken seriously.
